The Dublin and District Lions Club welcomed Deputy District Governor Charles Kuenzig from Teeswater to their regular Tuesday dinner meeting. He congratulated the fellow Lions of their community services and urged them to recruit more members in the area. Lion Jim Paratchek asked for volunteers to drive senior citizens to the Ritz Villa in Mitchell on Mondays for day care therapeutic activities. Lions Don MacRae, Home with Mrs. Millie Evans are her Louis Kramers, Herb Brown and James daughter and son-in-law Jerry and Joan Paratchek volunteered. Mayman from Long Island, New York. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Benninger spent Than- sgiving Sunday with their son and daughter- in-law Ben and Mary Lyn Benninger in Waterloo. On Monday for Thanksgiving din- ner with Hugh and Ann were their daughter and son-in-law Rose Ann and Tom Simonsen and grandson Tommy. spent Thanksgiving with Marie and Jack Cleary in London. Family home with Eileen and Don MacRae for Thanksgiving were Sharon and David Felling, Mark and friend Shelley, Jennifer and friend Rick all from Meaford. Jack and Denise Kelly fr,pm Stratford also visited, as did Bill, Kathy, Tracy and Chad Wolfe of Mitchell. Eileen's mother Mrs. Ada Davidson of the Ritz Villa, Mitchell, was also a guest. The sympathy of the community goes out to the family of Mrs. Jean Dill who died in Seaforth Hospital last Thursday evening after a lengthly illness. Jean had been a resident of Dublin for many years before moving to Mitchell two years ago. Children participate in mass of Thanksgiving St. Columban Correspondent MRS. CECILIA RYAN 345-2028 The October meeting of the St. Columban Catholic Women's League was held on Tues- day, October 4 with president Margaret O'Reilly presiding. There were fourteen members and Sister Rita Coyne present. The meeting opened with the league prayer to Our Lady of Good Counsel. Correspondence read by Sherri Lynn Cronin included a letter from the Evangelization Commission inviting the ladies to attend a Good News Day on Satur- day, October 29 at Regina Mundi School, London. Invitations were received from the Immaculate Conception C.W.L., Stratford to their Harvest Bazaar on Saturday, November 12 in the church hall on Well Street; St. James C.W.L. Seaforth are holding their bazaar on Saturday, November 26 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; the Dublin C.W.L. bazaar is on October 19 and St. Joseph's C.W.L. in Clinton are having their bazaar on October 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the church hall. The McKillop Federation of Agriculture dinner and meeting will be held on November 15 in the St. Columban Hall with the C.W.L. ladies catering for the dinner. A "Harvest Dance" sponsored by the St. Columban C.W.L. will be held on November 12 in the Brodhagen Community Centre. Please support this annual event by buying tickets and enjoy an evening out after the fall harvest is completed. The meeting closed with prayer. A Mass of Thanksgiving was offered on Friday, October 7 at 11 a.m. at St. Columban Church by Father J. Hardy with the children from St. Columban School atten- ding. The readings were done by the children and the offertory gifts were also brought up by the children. The sanctuary around the altar was decorated for Thanksgiving with corn, fruits, vegetables and flowers. Gifts of cann- ed and dried food brought by the children and placed in front of the altar will be given to the poor.
