Margaret Daynard and Florence McPhail
hosted the Resolutions meeting of the Staffa
Women's Institute Wednesday evening in
the township hall. At that meeting a panel,
chaired by Mrs. McPhail, discussed recycl-
ing and waste management.
Joyce Vivian reported on the conference
she had attended m Kingston, stressing we
must all reduce, reuse, recover and recycle.
Mrs. McPhail spoke on overpackaging on
grocery items and the need to recycle our
newspapers, cans and glass. This is now be-
ing done on a voluntary basis in Hibbert
Township, and Patti Taylor discussed the
availability of recycling and the cost involv-
ed. Margaret Daynard talked about water
and the lack of it, and how easily water can
become contaminated.
It was a most interesting and informative
panel and everyone present felt they had
learned much more about recycling and
waste at its close.
Margaret Daynard presided for the
meeting. Roll call asked those present to
show and tell something they recycle in
their home. It was answered by 13 members
and two visitors.

craft table at the London Area Convention.

their present project on meat.
