On September 12, 1988 an elderly Clinton woman left her residence to attend to an urgent family matter out of town. Her home was checked on September 14 and was found to have been broken into. The theives broke awindow and ransacked the house. Among some of the stolen items was a small gold ring with a diamond which belonged to the woman's mother. Also stolen was her own wedding ring, family ring with an emerald, and several other pieces of jewellery and cash. The estimated total dollar loss was in excess of $1,000.
