their new school, and are having no troubles
fitting in.
Linda, his wife, is interested in arts,
crafts, and with various youth groups. She
has an arts degree from York University
and studied such subjects as medieval art
and photography. But, he said, she likes oil
paintings and sketches the best. Mrs. Jones

town of Stratford, however, agriculture is

in this community," said Rev.Jones, "There
are oil fields, as well as more cattle, and
larger fields for agriculture."

HCBE reaches agreement with teachers
The Huron County Board of Education
and its 283 Secondary School Teachers
represented by District 45 of the Ontario
Secondary School Teachers' Federation are
pleased to announce that they have reached
an Agreement for the 1988/89 school year.
The Agreement calls for a 3.73 per cent in-
crease in grid salaries retroactive to
September 1, 1988, followed by another in-
crease and a restructured grid effective
February 1,1989. As of February 1, 1989, the
minimum and maximum teachers' salaries
will be $24,500 and $53,000 respectively. The
total cost increase for the 1988/89 school
year is approximately 4.55 per cent.
The Agreement also calls for small
changes in staffing and benefits.
The Board and the teachers are pleased to
point out that for three successive years the
parties have concluded negotiations before
Christmas in the year in which they started.

Rev. Jones also has many interests both in
the church, and out in the community. He
enjoys golf, tennis, swimming and his
favorite sport, hockey. He has been playing
hockey since he was a boy, and hopes to try
out for the Seaforth Old Timers' League this
year.
Rev. Jones also has many different ideas
on how he can improve both Northside, and
Cavan United Church, and one of his biggest
dreams is to somehow involve the youth in
the church. At this point in time, however,
he said he feels he doesn't know the youth in
this area well enough'tyjta've a definite idea
on how to go about malting changes. He said
he would like to get to know the older people
in Seaforth, since they are a large part of the
community. He would also like to expand his
congregation.
"Northside is a very big church and I
would like to see more people attending the
services on Sunday," said Rev. Jones.
