New Manor activation coordinator hired
Welcome to Darlene Friesen of Hensall
who is the new Activation Co-ordinator at
Seaforth Manor.
On Tuesday residents enjoyed very much
the film of "Secrets of the Titanic", depic-
ting the building of the Titanic, her laun-
ching and maiden voyage that ended in
disaster, and the recent search and find of
the ship at the bottom of•the ocean.
Rev. Cheryl Ann Stadelbauer,Sampa con-
ducting worship service and commiution on
Wednesday afternoon. On Friday afternoon
Father C. Caruana was in charge of mass
for all Catholic residents. Sister Mary Louis
ws also present.
Thursday morning residents exercised in
the day room for fun and fitness with
Darlene. At 2 pm volunteer ladies assisted
with euchre as the euchre club started for

Maplewood residents start crafts
With the fall and winter season quickly ap-
proaching, many residents are putting great
thought towards their winter projects.
Crochet hooks and knitting needles are ap-
pearing in many of the rooms and will soon
be put to good use.
Monday and Tuesday afternoon, residents
enjoyed playing their favorite games of
cards — bridge and euchre.
Friday morning, Gail Hills came to
Maplewood and visited with many of the
residents which they enjoyed very much.
Bingo was on the agenda for Friday after-
noon with Anne Downey calling the
numbers. Winners of the clay were Elsie
Shaddick, Ethel Coleman, Ed Johns, and

Ontario Junior Citizen of the Year Awards
In every crowd there is a young person aged 6 to 18 years,
who is involved in worthwhile community service, overcoming
physical or psychological limitations, or has performed an act of
heroism. You can honour this young person, with the help of
Canadian Airlines International and the Ontario Community
Newspapers Association by nominating them for an Ontario Junior
Citizen of the Year Award.
Since 1981. the prestigious Ontario Junior Citizen of the Year
Awards Program has recognized the best in Ontario's youth.
Official nomination forms are available at the office of every
member Community Newspaper in Ontario, or the Ontario
Community Newspapers Association, P.O. Box 451, Oakville,
Ontario. L6J 5A8, phone 1-416-844-0184. Nominations are accepted
up to October 31st.
Every nominee receives a certificate and up to 12 individuals
and one group will be recipients of an award presented by the
Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.

Ladies Aid meets
after summer break
The Ladies Aid of First Presbyterian
Church Seaforth held its first meeting after
the holidays on Tuesday, Sept. 6 with 11
members and five guests present. President
Viola Lawson opened the meeting by
reading a poem "The Flute".
Roll call was to name something special
done during the Summer. Dorothy Papple
was appointed "card" convenor, and Marge
Dale was appointed to the buying commit-
tee. Jean Keyes, was in charge of the Scrip-
ture lesson and prayer, and also gave a
reading entitled "The rural mail -box". An-
nie Ried demonstrated how to make
placemats from cards.
Lunch was served By Beulah MacKay and
Jean Keyes.
