Choice steers sell barely steady at Stockyards The market at Brussels Stockyards met an active demand on choice heifers with heifers selling fully steady to $1 higher than last week. Choice steers sold barely steady to $1 lower. Cows and pigs traded steady. There were 737 cattle, 615 pigs and 149 sheep, lambs and goats on offer. Choice Steers - 84. to 87. with sales to 87.50. Good Steers - 80. to 84. Two steers consigned by Glen Sellers of R.R. 2, Bluevale, averaging 1235 lb., sold for 87.50, with his total offering of five steers averaging 1212 lb., selling for an overall price of 86.72. Two black steers consigned by Jim Harrison of R.R. 2 Goderich, averaging 870 lb., sold for an average price of 86.03, with sales to 87.25. Fourty-one steers consigned by Maple Emblem Farms of R.R. 1, Dungannon, averaging 1237 lb., sold for an overall price of 84.48, and they had sales to 87. Fourteen steers consigned by Geo. Under- wood Farms of R.R. 1, Wingham, averaging 1202 lb., sold for an average price of 84.71, with sales to 88.75. Two steers consigned by Barry Jacklin of R.R. 2, Bluevale, averaging 1175 lb., sold for 85.72. A steer consigned by Glen Johnston of R.R. 2, Bluevale, weighing 1170 lb. sold for 85.75, with his total lot of twelve steers averaging 1200 lb. selling for an average price of 84.84. Choice Exotic Heifers - 84. to 87. with sales to 96.50. Good Heifers - 81. to 84. A llmousin heifer consigned by Wm. Bennett and Sons Ltd. of R.R. 1, Gorrie, weighing 1130 lb., sold for 96.50, with their total offer- ing of thirty-two heifers, selling for an overall price of 87.75. A charolais heifer consigned by Schultz Bros. of R.R. 3, Blyth, weighing 1000 lb., sold for 90.25, with their total lot of ten heifers averaging 1010 lb., selling for an average price of 81,18. Twelve heifers consigned by Alvin Granger of R.R. 2, Wroxeter, averaging 1123 lb., sold for an average price of 85.48, with sales to \NALL COVERNG SPLE 88.75. Five heifers consigned by Tim Prior of R.R. 3, Brussels, averaging 1142 lb. sold for an overall price of 85.64, with sales to 88. A heifer consigned by Lloyd Morrison of R.R. 1, Lucknow, weighing 900 lb. sold for 88., with his total offering of forty heifers averaging 1011 lb., selling for an average price of 82.50. Eleven heifers consigned by Rick Smith of R.R. 4, Ripley, averaging 1064 lb., sold for an average price of 84.60, with sales to 87.25. Five heifers consigned by Philip Eadie of R.R. 1, Wingham, averaging 988 lb., sold for an overall price of 85.45, with sales to 87.00. A heifer consigned by Leonard Robinson of Belgrave, weighing 1060 lb., sold for 88., with his total lot of ten heifers averaging 1073 lb., selling for an average price of 78.74. Fifteen heifers consigned by Larry Elston of R.R. 4, Wingham, averaging 871 lb., sold for an overall price of 82.55, with sales to 85.75.
