showed up for a night of Lawn Bowling,
followeq by a corn roast. The overall win-
ners of the night were too numerous to men-
tion but a good time was had by all. It was a
surprise to see so many of the members in-
terested in this sport. We hope the Lawn
Bowling Club benefits by this increased
participation.
'two very important dates took place last
week, dates that every Canadian should
remember -.August 15, 1945 wag the day the
war ended with Japan and August 19 was the
46th anniversary of the raid on Dieppe when
so many soldiers of the Canadian Army
were killed, wounded and captured only to
spend the remaining three years of the•war
in prison camps.

place your name on the sheet provided, on
the bullotin'board.
The members of the Branch were sorry to
hear of the death of Comrade "Andy"
McLean last week. Comrade McLean had
been a Past President of the Branch ,and
was also a Life Member for many years. In
his passing the Branch has lost one of its
most respected members. To his family we
offer our sympathies in their loss of a hus-
band and father.
They grow not old as we that are left grow
old. Age shall not weary them nor the years
condemn. At the going down of the sun and
in the morning we will remember them.
