Under 17s battle to 4-2 win
St. Columban's under 17 soccer team
travelled to Exeter on July 4 to play what
turned out to be its toughest game this year.
However, St. Columban battled to a 4 to 2
victory.
Brad Carter started the scoring by
rushing past the Exeter defenders and
shooting a low shot to the far corner. The St.
Columban players looked very sluggish for
the remainder of the first half which allowed
Exeter to score two goons and take the lead 2
to 1 at half time.
St. Columban regrouped at half time and
turned the game around in the second half.
Brad Carter tied the score by deflecting in a
corner kick taken by Evan Aitcheson. Ray-
mond put St. Columban up by one with a
hard shot that the Esteter goalie could not
handle. Steve Ryan ended the scoring late in
the game.
