Canada Day festive in Seaforth
A FOND FAREWELL - As part of its Canada Day activities the
Town of Seaforth took time out to honor Japanese exchange stu-
dent Mayuko Yoshiota. Mayuko has been living in the Seaforth
area for the past year, and has been a student at the local high
school. She is seen here with her Seaforth family of (from left)
Morgan, Jim, Michelle and Janneke, and Seaforth Mayor Alf
Ross. Mayuko was presented with a town plaque and flag, and in
turn presented Mayor Ross with a Japanese fan. Mcllwraith

HOT OFF THE GRILL - The food was plentiful Friday when the Seaforth and Area
Firefighters hosted their annual Canada Day pancake breakfast. Some 576 people
were served at the breakfast which went from 7 until 11 a.m. Mcllwraith photo.
NIAGARA FALLS IN SEAFORTH - Although it doesn't look like more than a mass of
smoke, this fireworks display, called Niagara Falls, is a beautiful finale to the annual
Canada Day festivities. A record crowd turned out at the highschool this year to watch
the fireworks. Mcllwraith photo.
GREAT SHOW - A record number of peo-
ple lined the high school grounds Friday
night to watch the annual Canada Day
fireworks display. Mcllwraith photo.
PREPARING FOR THE SHOW - Peter Kling prepares the fireworks for the display seen
in Seaforth Friday night. The fireworks can only be set off by people licensed in the
practice. In Seaforth three people are licensed. Mcllwraith photo.
WITH GREAT CARE - Local firefighter Don
Hulley appears a little apprehensive about
flipping these eggs. He was on duty at the
Firemen's Pancake Breakfast Friday morn-
ing. Mcllwraith photo.
POPULAR ARTIST - Local artist Attie Dale put on a painting demonstration at Satur-
day's Flea Market with his already completed paintings as a backdrop. Approximately
12 vendors took the opportunity to participate in the flea market. Mcllwraith photo.
PICK A CARD - Seaforth's Dean Wood has
a pretty good poker face, as it's pretty hard
to dicern from this photo whether he likes
this card of not. Dean was one of a number
of participants in the Leisure Walk Poker
Rally held Friday in conjunction with
Canada Day festivities. Mcllwraith photo.
A BREAKFAST MAN - Seaforth Fire Chief George Garrickthe pan-
cakes, whil behind him Fireman Ralph Wood rooks after the sausage. Theo grub wasa
part of a breakfast held by the firemen as part of Friday's Canada Day celebrations,
Five hundred and 76 people were served. All money raised from the breakfast will go to
restore a 1949 International Fire Truck. Mcllwraith photo.
