ST. PATRICK'S DUBLIN GRADUATION - The Grade 8 graduation of St. Patrick's
School, Dublin, was held last Tuesday, June 21 at the school. Twenty-seven students

ST. JAMES BOOK WORMS - Students at St, James Separate School in Seaforth took
part in a reading program sponsored this year by World Book Encyclopedia. Growing in
popularity the program, called Partners in Excellence encourages students to read and
earn funds for their school at the same time. World Book will match half the funds earn-
ed by the school. Students at St. James School earned $1,355.74 plus $677.87 from
World Book for a total of $2,033.61. They used this money to purchase three sets of en-
cycopedias, one set of childcraft books, and one Atlas. The class that read the most

AWARDS WERE PRESENTED to outstanding students at the Grade 8 graduation
ceremony last week at Huron Centennial School In Brucefield. Shannon Keller (front)
was the runner-up for a general proficiency award, Sandra Coultis won the Doris
McKinley Music Award and the French award; Hohor McKinley , was the top academic
girl, runner up for the French award, and won the Evelyn H. B. Newton -Brady scholar-
ship; Phuoc Luong was the top academic boy, runner up for the athletic award, and
winner of the math award; Pam Carter claimed the athletic award; Duane Siertsema
won the Ruth Hayman -Elliot Award for the most improved student; and David
Hoogenes was the runner up as the top academic boy. (Back) Hayley Linfield won
awards for music, top academic girl, and tied for the Evelyn H. B. Newton -Brady
Scholarship; Amanda Butt was the top history student and the runner up for the top
academic girl; Nancy Steckles was the most improved student; Julie Smith was runner
up for the history award and won the general proficiency award; Trudie Decker was the
runner up in math; Ken Betties was the runner up for general proficiency and Seth
