Following mass, a farewell for Father Sipek as held in the church basement. On behalf f the parishioners Joe Visser, chair- man,the Advisory Board, presented Fathe Anrew with a gift of money and Marg et O'Reilly, on behalf of the St. Col- umban Catholic Women's League presented Fathelrwith an engraved desk set, a church plate }fid stand. Fatter Sipek has been appointed Chaplain of Meropolitan Hospital, Windsor, Ontario. WOMEN'S LEAGUE The St. Columban Catholic Women's Lea a held its June Social and Tea in the p hall on Wednesday, June 15. Ladies fro church organizations in Seaforth, Dub , Mitchell, Logan, 13rodhagen, Ken- nico , Kinkora and St. Columban were in atte ce. An ghan as won by Marie Dekroon and a bale sugar by Maria Vogels. Four door prizes grocery boxes were won by Joanne Cunn- Dublin Ingham, Eileen Sloan, Mary Eckert and Mildred Cronin. While the ladies enjoyed their tea and refreshments the penny sale draw took place. PEOPLE Peter and Jean VanDrunen returned home recently from a four week trip to Europe. During their first week spent int Holland, they visited relatives, and celebrated the 25th wedding anniversary of Jean's brother and his wife. They took a 10 -day bus tour through Germany and Austria, stayed at hotel Gasthoff in Wiener Wald and took bus tours all through Austria and into Vienna, took a boat trip to Donaw and saw a beautiful church called Stifft run couples attend assembly Dublin Correspondent MRS. DON MACRAE 345-2842 or 345-2140 The Exemplification of the Father James Assembly of the 5th District of Ontario was held at "Wheels Inn" in Chatham on the weekend. There were nine candidates of the Monsignor D.J. Egan Assembly, Seaforth present. Roy Swart was the local candidate from the district, but many others from as far away as Windsor, Delhi, Belle River, St. Thomas, Tilbury, Tecumseh, Stratford and Chatham attended. Mr. Swart was accom- panied by his wife Angeline. Louis and Shirley Kraemers and Don and Eileen MacRae also attended all the weekend activities..,.. , PEOPLE Rita Newcombe from Stroud, Ontario is visiting her sister Kay Stapleton, and other relatives in Dublin. They attended the 40th anniversary in the priesthood of their cousin Father John Stapleton. The anniversary was held in Mildmay on Sunday. Also atten- ding from Dublin were Ferg and Mary Stapleton, Ken and Joan Stapleton and Ed Stapleton. Frank and Joanne Kalsa attend- ed from Kitchener. The sympathy of the community goes out to Bill and Marie O'Rourke, Jack and Bessey O'Rourke and Katherine Looby, all of Dublin, on the passing of their brother Pat O'Rourke of Burlington. Also to Steve and Cecile and Louis and Theresa Maloney, all of Dublin, on the passing of their uncle Harold Maloney of Seaforth. Both funerals were held Friday. Don and Eileen MacRae were with Nora Ann and Ian Jackson and baby Trevor in London, for a "Father's Day" dinner on Sunday. They also went in- to the Donaw tower which is 262 metres high. Congratulations to Jerome Cronin and Darlene Henderson who were united in mar- riage on Saturday, June 18 at St. Columban Catholic Church by Father A. Sipek. Their parents are John and Pearl Henderson of Sauble Beach and Alphonse and Annie Cronin, Attendants for the bride and groom were: Debbie Henderson, maid of honor, bridesmaids were Ann Cronin, Donna Feeney, Susan Henderson and Shelly Under- wood. A large crowd of friends and relatives at- tended the wedding reception at the Seaforth Community Centre. PRESCHOOL GRADUATES - Students at the Seaforth and District Preschool Learning Centre were involved in a graduation ceremony at the Seaforth and District High School Friday night. Ninety children were enrolled in the preschool this year with 56 graduating.
