fitness routine. Rev. Wright was in to lead
the church service with Joyce Pepper as
pianist.
Wednesday Geri Fashions set up shop in
the Activity Room. Residents had a wonder -
fat day of browsing and shopping. In the
afternoon Murray Howe, Lloyd McDougall,
Muriel Gunning, Linda Bedard, Troyann
Cole, and Cheryl Kuepfer were good sports
and modelled several items at the fashion
show. In the special draws held by Geri
Fashions, Vera Hodgins was the lucky win-
ner of a beautiful cardigan of her choice.

afternoon, and ladies were treated to a little
extra pampering with manicures, hand
massages and nail polish if desired. Thank
.you very much Dorothy. Also every Thurs-
day for the months of May, and June several
residents are enjoying the extra attention of
Health Care Aide Trainees. Queensway is
happy tohave these girls in and wish them
the best In their chosen career.
Friday morning residents viewed the
movie "The Man from Snowy River" and in
the afternoon held their last baking club to
prepare for the Mother's Day Tea.
Sunday was a special day for Queensway.
Residents hosted a "Mother's Day Tea".
Residents were pleased to have their
families in to join them for fancy cookies
and squares. Ladies Auxiliary member Iva
Reid assisted with pouring tea and coffee.
Queensway Coming Events are: May 26 at
2:30 pm, Laurene Madge and friends enter-
tain; May 27 at 2:30 pm, International Day
featuring Hawaii; and May 28, Queensway
corner at the Hensall Yard Sale.

Hensall cubs see village from the air
Moonwalk '88 will be held in Hensall un
Sunday, May 29. The Hensall and Distract
Kinsmen and Kinettes are sponsoring this
event for the second year and are hoping for
a good response.
Anyone can participate in the walk from
St. Joseph's to Hensall. You can walk from
with your friends and raise money for Cystic
Fibrosis research at the same time. Call
Jeff Raeburn at 262-3102 for a pledge sheet
and collect as many sponsors as you can.
You will be driven out to St. Joseph's and all
that you will have to do is walk back to Hen-
sall. Don't forget, that's May 29, the day
after Hensall's Community Yard Site.
An updated map of yard sales fir the an-
nual Yard Sale will be printed ep shortly
before the event. If you want your name on
the revised list which will be harried out the
day of the sale make sure ytu call the
Village Office before May 20. It't absolutely
free and will greatly increase the publicity
for your sale.
HENSALL CUBS
The Hensall Cubs were absolutely thrilled
on Saturday with the opportwlty to fly over
Hensall and Exeter and try to pick out
familiar landmarks. DwightMonck arrang-
ed the flight and piloted the youngsters on
their adventure. Thanks Dwight for pro-
viding the boys with an experience of a
lifetime.
VIDEO PROGRAM
Available free of char a at the ,Hensall
Branch Library is a 71 minute entitled
"Feeling Yes, Feeling Nr." This is a Video
program for families or the prevention of
child sexual assault whith was developed by
the National Film Board. Also included is a
Guidebook on how to ase the Video. Call
262-2445.

Don Travers of Hensall is recovering well
at home after undergoing open heart
surgery at University Hospital in London.
Hazel Corbett spent Mother's Day with
Joey and Donna, Melissa and Jessica Chaffe
and attended the Baptism of her newest
great-granddaughter Jessica Jane at Mit-
chell United Church. A lovely dinner follow -
at her home with all of her grand -parents
d aunts and uncled present.
SENIOR SHUFFLEBOARD
John Pepper had the highest score at
Shuffleboard on Tuesday, May 3 with 449 in
six games. Percy Campbell followed with
396, Walter Knowles 381 and Ethel Knowles
315.
Five Game winners were Pearl McKnight
327, Ethel McMurtrie 311, Jack Consitt 308
and Jay Hogg 295.
UCW MEETING
The May United Church Women's
meeting was held on Monday, May 2 in the
church parlor with Dianne Gerstenkorn
chairing the meeting. Dianne read a poem
"This is the way of a Mother." All members
repeated in unison the U.C.W. Purpose. the
roll call was answered by 19 members who
repeated a Mother's Day verse.
Guest speaker was Janet Clark. She told
about the Ronald McDonald House in Lon-
don. Hilda Payne had the devotion.
The June Meetng will be held on June 13
at 6:30 p.m. with a pot -lock picnic supper.

Kippen East Vomen's Institute will hold
its family and csuers affairs meeting on
Wednesday, May 18 at 8 pm in Hensall
United Church, Roll call Is to be answered
by mentioning a home improvement you
would like to make. Guest speaker will be
Mrs. Ruacell McCallum from St. Marys.
Visitors are always welcome.
Congratulations to Alan Robert Bell on his
marriage to Denise Lynn Thompson, The
wedding took place in Carmel Presbyterian
Church, Hensall on Saturday, May 7. Alan is
the son of Bob and Marlene Bell and was
raised in the Kippen community. Denise is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Spence Cumm-
ings of London. Denise and Alan Bell will
reside on the old Bell Homestead at RR 1
Hensall.

Services in London will be packed on Mon-
day, May 16 at the Church.
Dianne closed with a Mother's Day poem
followed by the benediction. Group 4 served
a lovely lunch.
FAMILY SUNDAY
May 8 was Ascension Sunday/Mother's
Day/Christian Family Sunday at Hensall
United Church.
Rev. Douglas Wright explained to the
children everything that was part of the ser-
vice and what each item of the service
meant. There was no Sunday School, the
children sat with their parents on this
special day.
The 4 -10 -year-olds in the congregation
gathered around Rev. Wright and helped
him to explain how the family of God works
together. Working together they were able
to keep a number of balloons in the air, but
one person alone was not able to keep them
aloft.
FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
The South Huron and District Association
for the Mentally Handicapped will be con-
ducting a door-to-door fundraising cam-
paign in the very near future.
The Senior Choir sang and Rev. Wright
spoke about the Ascension.
Two beautiful flower arrangements were
from the Mock and Byrne weddings at the
Church over the week -end. Congratulations
to the brides and grooms.
Bill Noakes greeted worshippers at the
door and they were ushered by Doug Kyle,
Mark Consitt, Raye Jacobe and Wayne
Dickens.
The official Board of Hensall United
Church will meet this Thursday evening.
Executive at 7:30 p.m. Committees 8 p.m.
and full Board at 8:30 p.m.
VENTURERS AWARD
Last night Andy Phillips of Hensall receiv-
ed his Queen's Venturers' Award and will
travel to Toronto soon to be recognized by a
representative of the Royal Family.
Last week's entry in the paper should
have read that the Royal Canadian Legion,
Hensall Branch not the auxilary was the
donor of $500 to Hensall Minor Hockey.
Apologies all around for any inconvenience
this may have caused.

The first meeting of the Brussels Horse
and Pony Club took place at Rob Sbortreed's
home, RR 3 Walton on Thursday, April 21.
Heather Hopper was elected as president
and Kelly Workman as vice-president.
Members discussed the role of internal
organs in digestion, and how to tell whether
a horse is fat, skinny or fit.
The next meeting will be in May. New
members are still welcome. Call Elaine
Workman at 887-6052.
