At the latest meeting of Tuckermith
Township council the councillors refused
to contribute towards the cost of the
maintenance of the Hensall Union
Cemetery Board.
Bill Roweliffe of the Hensall Union
Cemetery was in attendance to seek finan-
cial support towards the maintenance
costs of the cemetery.
Council also accepted a petition from
Vern Alderice for repair and improvement
to the Bell Drainage Works. R.J. Burnside
and Associates will be appointed to bring
in a report on the works, 30 days after
notification to the Conservation
Authorities.
Dennis Roy of Vanastra went before
council to discuss his proposed purchase of
the 10 foot walkway at the rear of his pro-
perty, Lot 96, plan 131, Vanastra Park.
Council asked Mr. Roy to contact his
neighbors from Lot 96 to Lot 107 to deter-
mine how many were interested in pur-
chasing the strip of land between their pro-
perties and the road, similar to Mr. Roy's.
request. This matter will be addressed
again at the next council meeting, once the
neighbor's wishes are known.
Approved was a tile drainage loan ap-
plication from Bruce Coleman on Lot 12,
Concession 5, in the amount of $18,000.
Council authorized the Clerk to have
removal of the old township building car-
ried out. Tenders for the building's
removal are now being taken, and when it
is gone the property will be sold for
,residential land.
