Music excellent therapy for residents
Activities at Seaforth Manor kept resident
busy during the week. Tuesday morning
was wheelchair bowling with volunteer
students from Seaforth Public School. In the
afternoon films were shown.
Rev. Glen Sadller of Bethel Bible Church
conducted •worahip service on Wednesday
afternoon. Special music was provided for
the service by Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Lobb Of
Clinton. Readings were given by Isabel Gar-
diner and Lavada Norris.
Residents enjoyed having Marie Flynn
and the Huron Strings orchestra play for old
tyme music and dancing on Thursday after-
noon. Several guests were present and they
also joined in the dancing. Often residents
who need assistance to walk find music a
therapy that they respond to and are still
able to master the old tyme waltz. Patrick
Ryan thanked Marie and the rest of the or-
chestra on behalf of the residents for a most
enjoyable afternoon and refreshments were
served by the staff.
Friday afternoon was bingo day and lucky
winners were Marguerite Shill, Verde
Cameron, Eva Netzke, Maria Gooverts,
Margaret Smale, Annie Harrison, Frank
Smale, Mabel Handy and Cassie Nicholson.

Queensway residents surprise minister
Residents of Maplewood visited Seaforth
Public School on Tuesday afternoon to see
the dress rehearsal of their spring concert.
Students from kindergarten through Grade
6 acted out several skits with the theme be-
ing "Once Upon a Time". The primary and
junior choirs of the school also sang many
selections with this.theme..The residents
were thrilled by the talents shown by the
young pupils. Euchre and bridge were also
enjoyed by residents in the afternoon.
Residents of the Queensway Nursing
Home started their day with a workout at
Fun and Fitness in the Activity Room. In the
afternoon many enjoyed a sing song in the
day room. Hensall Presbyterian ladies join-
ed them in the evening for an hour of Bingo.
Reverend Bender led the worship service
Tuesday afternoon with his wife as song
leader. Residents were happy to welcome
them and following the service shared a
snack and time of fellowship. Residents had
fun wishing Rev. Bender, Happy Birthday
and surprising him with a piece of birthday
cake and candle.
Baking Club met Wednesday afternoon.
They are busy baking and freezing items in
preparation for the Mother's Day Tea, Sun-
day May 8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Thursday afternoon residents viewed the
film "Seven Alone" based on a true story of
the Oregon Trail crossing. The Hensall

Beavers Pack visited residents in the even-
ing and assisted rF•airh nta eoith .Waking a
craft. They would like to thank these little
fellow and their leaders for spending their
evening at Queensway.
A group of ladies from the ,Zurich Men-
nonite Church were in Friday afternoon.
The Activity Room was a Beehive of Activi-
ty as they helped some residents quilt while
others, knit or assembled bird houses.
Following the work they shared delicious
cake and ice cream with the residents.
Sunday morning was special for residents
when the Hensall United Church Junior
Choir presented a beautiful program. Thank
you to the choir and their leaders for a
wonderful performance.
Residents are looking forward to the
following coming events. April 28 at 7 p.m.,
Ray Cann and Friends entertain. April 29 at
2:30 p.m., Carol and Cyril Gingerich speak
on Ethiopia. May 4 Geri Fashions will be
present and residents will give a Fashion
Show from 2 to 3 p.m.

who celebrated her birthday last Friday.
Visiting with her on Sunday were her

Lois Fox of Nakino, Ontario visited her
father George Fox.
Visiting with Edith Jessome were her
granddaughter Brenda Jessome and son
Bernie also Nelson and Trevor Jessome.
Alex and Helen Chesney visited with Alice
Byes, Frank and Margaret Smale also
Cassie Nicholson and Annie Harrison.
Rose and Pat Altman visited their parents
Dave and Eva Netzke. They were also
visited by their great -great-grandchildren
Cathy, Lori and Angela.
Cassie Nicholson was out for supper on
Sunday evening to her dauther Barbara's
home. Also she was visited by her grandson
favid Alexander.
Visiting Alice Boyes on Sunday was her
husband Ed and on Thursday son Jim and
daughter Helen Consitt visited.
Sisters Antonia, Helen, St. Anthony and
Cyril (Reynolds) visited Wednesday after-
noon with Marjorie Ryan. Sister St. Anthony
is a cousin of Laurence Ryan. Both Stater
Antonia and Helen are visiting from Peru,
where they teach with Marjorie's daughter
Sister Theresa.
Visiting with Inez Spittal during the week
were- her daughter Nancy Larose, also
grandchildren Jane and Peter Spittal.
Lennie Bloomfield attended the Legion
supper at the Legion Sunday evening.
Mabel Handy, James Nolan and Verda
Cameron enjoyed the bouquets of daffodils
brought to them by Thelma Dale and Helen
McKenzie - representing the Seaforth
Women's Institute.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hernacki from
Michigan visited her brother Patrick Ryan
and enjoyed an outing to the steakhouse on
Saturday.
Audrey Cameron visited her mother-in-
law Verda Cameron.
Dorothy Uniac visited her mother Alice
Boyes last Wednesday.
Visiting with Mary K. Ryan were
Geraldine and Anne Wilson.
Gladys Ruston spent Sunday at her home
in Stratford.
Visiting with Marjorie Ryan were her hus-
band Laurence, son Nelson Ryan and Mary
Anna Ryan, Peggy and Monica also Gerald
and Anne Ryan.
Edith Jessome attended "grandparents
day" at Seaforth Public School last Monday.
Visiting Bill Scott was his wife Isabel.
Audrey Mcflwain visited her aunt Mar-
jorie Ryan on Tuesday last syeek.
Welcome to new resident Mrs. Maria
Goovearts and visiting with her were her
daughter Elsa Ruston and Keith Ruston.
