concern over low
income seniors

THE BIG BAD WOLF (Michael Webber) has some fairly poor representation when it
came time for his trial at Huron 'Centennial School on April 20. The wolf's lawyer,
Shawn Dayman, slept through most of the trial during the Grade 6 presentation of The
Trial of the Big Bad Wolf. This act was part of the school's Spring concert titled Our
Magic World - After All. The concert and stage show was shown again on. April 21.

OMAF sponsoring heritage recipe contest
Does your family have a favorite peach
recipe that's been around for years? It's
time to dust it off and let everyone know just
how good it is.
Many wonderful peach recipes were
created in granny's kitchen and handed
down to family and friends over the years.
Food is such an important part of our
heritage and traditional family recipes
reflect our tremendously rich and diverse
history. This is your opportunity to help
preserve that tradition. To mark the
Ministry of Agriculture and Food's Centen-
nial Year, Foodland Ontario is asking you to
share the best of your peach recipe collec-
tion for a chance to win one of 15 exciting
prizes.
The grand prize winner will be presented
with an Heirloom Quilt, specially commis-
sioned and crafted by Ontario Mennonites
and valued at $1,500. Two second -place win-
ners will each receive a $300 gourmet On-
tario food basket. And there's lots more!
To qualify, each recipe must be original,
contain at least four Ontario peaches and
have been in use for at least two genera-
tions. If there's a special family history or
other bits of nostalgia associated with the
recipe, send your notes along.
A copy of the official contest rules can be
obtained from your local ministry office or
by writing: "Heritage Peach Recipe Con-
test", Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and
Food, 33 Yonge Street, Suite 800, Toronto,
Ontario, M7A 1A6. Entries should be sent to
the same address.
Start checking through your recipe files
now because the deadline for this contest is
Friday, June 3, 1988.
