doors", held their first meeting. Elected for
president was Chris Maloney, vice presi-
dent, Kathleen Ryan, secretary, Michelle
Murray, treasurer, Sharon Kelly and press
reporter, Morgan Murray.
Other members of the club are Karen
Murphy, Michelle Cronin, Facia Khan, Kim,
Cindy and Sherri Maloney, Lisa Barry and
Tanya Vansteelandt. .
The club leaders are Janneke Murray and
Cora De Vries.
The meeting started with the 4-H pledge
and then Cora and Janneke taught the
members about the outdoors, how to build a
campsite and fire, hazards and weather
signs. Also precautions about poison ivy and
hypothermia.
The next meeting will be on Thursday,
April 28 at Janneke Murray's home.
PEOPLE
Quite a number of people from this com-
munity attended the Recreation Fund
Dance for the Mentally Retarded of the
Stratford district held at the Mitchell Com-
munity Centre on Saturday evening.
Mozarts supplied the music and family
members of Ferg and Teresa Feeney were
in charge of the event.
Mary and Barbara Feeney of Stratford
visited with their parents Ferg and Teresa
Feeney on the weekend.
Clarence and Cecilia Ryan, Mark Ryan
and Debbie Core visited on Sunday with
Laura, Les and Shannon Ward of Kitchener.

A large crowd of friends and relatives at-
Kallyn Burke, infant daughter of Tom and
Lynn Burke, was baptized on Sunday, April
17 by Father Andrew Sipek at St. Columban
Catholic Church.
Kailyn's godparents are Gary and Joanne
Schleen of London.
Guests attending the baptismal ceremony
and later with Tom, Lynn, Stacy and Devan
at their home were Rose Burke of Stratford
and Roy and Angeline Swart, grand-
parents; great-grandmother, Joanna
Schoonderwoerd of Mitchell; Marion
McPherson of Stratford; Kim Swart, Kathy
ScottofLondon; John Buller of St. Thomas;
Father Sipek and Gary and Joanne Schleen
of London.
Congratulations go out to Liz Klaver and
Robert Reid who were united in marriage on
Saturday, April 16 at St. Columban Catholic
Church by Father Andre* Sipek.
Attendants for the bride and groom were:
Louise Ryan, maid of honor, bridesmaids
were Cheryl Wheeler and Sherri Maloney;
junior bridesmaids were Cindy Maloney and
Kim Maloney. Best man was Donald Reid
and the ushers were Dan Lear and Simon
Klaver. Parents of the bride and groom are
Herman and Elizabeth Klaver and Robert
and Edna Reid. Altar boys were Derek
Maloney and David Ryan. Readings were
done by Mary Maloney, Fritz Kiaver and
tended the wedding reception at the
Seaforth Community Centre.
SPIRITUAL REFLECTION
St. Columban Catholic Womens League
ladles who attended the Spiritual Reflection
Day at the Immaculate Conception Church
in Stratford on April 13 were Margaret
O'Reilly, Angeline Swart, Mary Moylan,
Carol Ryan; Mildred Cronin, Marie
Bicknell, Martha Claessens and Cecilia
Ryan.
EDUCATION WEEK
Education Week is being held this week.
At St. Columban School it began with the
children, their teachers and parents atten-
ding Holy Mass' at 11:15 a.m. offered by Fr.
Sipek in the church with the children par-
ticipating by singing, doing the readings and
intentions and bringing the gifts up at the
offertory.
PEOPLE
Pat Subject, Carrie, Ryan, Jeff and
Nathan and Louise Ryan of Kitchener spent
the weekend with Clarence and Cecilia
Ryan and on Sunday Laura, Les and Shan-
non Ward of Kitchener visited with the
Ryans.

The April meeting of the Hibbert United
Church Women, held in the Family Life Cen-
tre, began with a worship service led by
Margaret Christie and Pat McKinnon.
Pianist was Marlon McCaughey.
A skit, in keeping with the seasonal
theme, was presented by the two leaders
along with Verle Mahon. Herein two women,
one African, one Canadian, each concerned
with the production and handling of food,
were interviewed. Springtime music for
listening was given by Mary F. Dow, who
also led the group in the learning of new
hymns.
Business with Illa Barker presiding,
began with a roll call of housecleaning hints. Congratulations to Matthew Visscher;
Reports were received from the treasurer who placed first in the Perth District Kub
Florence McPhail and the official board Kar rally on Saturday.

Other items included a donation to the
Leadership Camp, some planning for the
June 14 camping experience, and a letter
from the inter -church plowing match
committee.
A lunch, prepared by Janet Chappel and
Dorothy Dow, concluded the gathering.
The group quilters made use of the after-
noon to further work on their season's quota.

Congratulations to all those who par-
ticipated in the Music Festival in Mitchell
this past week.
Dublin community extends sympathy

Our sympathy goes out from the friends of
the community to the family of Mrs.
Theodore (Anna) Visser who died last week
and the funeral mass was celebrated on Fri-
day, April 22nd at St. Patrick's Parish,
Dublin, by Father Carrigan.
Also, sympathy goes to the relatives of
Sister Mary Alice Coyne who died last
Friday.
' A get well recovery from our friends and
fteighbors goes out to Mrs. Brenda (Riek)
Boyd, who underwent knee surgery last
week.
Joe and Olga Eckert motored to
Newmarket on the weekend to visit their
daughter Reiny and Shirley Van Loon and
family in their new home. They were also
with Mrs. Roger Hoornaent of Kippen, Mrs.
Hank Dorssers of Seaforth, Barbara Ann
Eckert of Mississauga and Jerry Kelly, also
of Newmarket.
With Millie Evans during the past week
were her cousins Helen Late from Detroit
and her sister Emily from Chicago.
With Don and Eileen MacRae on the
weekend were Eileen's daughter Denise and
husband Jack Kelly from Stratford.
Dublin has local government

Village of Dublin was inadvertently
missed.

Doris Miller had her grandson Ricky
visiting with her on the weekend.
John and Roberta Templeman have
returned from Alberta, where they attended
the National Holstein Convention in
Calgary. They also enjoyed several tours in
the Calgary and Edmonton areas, and
visited with Nellie Carter in High River,
Alberta.
