Legion to host Seniors Games
There isn't too much news this week to
report although the teams of bowlers attend-
ed the Fergus invitational bowling this past
weekend, From all accounts both teams on-
ly had a good time, but better luck next
time.
The Senior Citizen • games schedule is
about to start at the local level. The games
taking place at the Legion are Bridge on
Wednesday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m., Euchre on
Monday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m., and Darts
Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. Anyone over
the age of 55 is considered eligible for the
senior games. The winners will then be eligi-
ble for the District games to be held in Strat-
ford on June 20-21 and the winners from the
District games will compete at Brampton
the end of August.
• Don't forget the monthly meeting this
Thursday at 8 p.m. This is election night, so
it would be appropriate if all voting
members would make an effort to. be
present.

OBITUARIES
For the freshest bread, rolls, pastries, and donuts come to....
death of Comrade James Watson Sr. of
Goderich. Jim was a member of the Branch
and had been very instrumental in helping
build the Branch back in 1959 and 1960. The
Legion offers sincere sympathies to Presi-
dent Jim and his brothers and families in
their loss of a father and a husband.
They grow not old as we that are left grow
old. Age shall not weary them nor the years
condemn. At the going down of the sun and
in the morning we will remember -them.

Seaforth elects officers
The annual meeting of the Seaforth
Women's Institute was held at the home of
Mary Nolan with 15 members present.
Olive Papple read a poem "Sounds of Spr-
ing" followed by the Institute Ode and Mary
Stewart Collect. Roll call was the payment
of fees, minutes and correspondence were
dealt with. Rachel Rheil read a poem
"Memory Chest". The minutes of the last
annual meeting were read, Winona Pipe,
Program Co -Ordinator, gave the report of
the year's meetings. Mildred Kerr gave her
report of the District Director's meeting at
Hensall.
Mrs. Gordon MacKenzie, President of
Huron South District, installed the officers
for the corning year. They are as follows:

The meeting was closed and a lunch was
served by the committee and hostess.
Tuckersmith Tycoons
learn of accounting
TUCKERSMITH TWP. - The fifth
meeting of the Tuckersmith Tycoons was
held on March 23 at the home of Jim Pap-
ple: Members opened with the 4-H pledge
and roll call was answered.
From there, they went to their books.
The speaker of the night was Jon
Strangway from the Seaforth TD Bank. He
spoke to them on accounting, interest
rates, applying for a loan and more.
Refreshements and attendance were
taken.
The sixth meeting was held on March 30
at the home of Jack McLachlan.
Memebers completed Chapters 5 and 6 in
their books on financial institutions.
JAMES WATSON
James Donaldson Watson of Goderich and
formerly of Seaforth, died Thursday, April
14, 1988 at the Alexander and Marine
Hospital, Goderich. He was 75.
Born in Scotland on April 19, 1912, he was
a son of the late David Watson and the
former Annie Donaldson.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian
Legion Branch 157 and had been a carpenter
by trade.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen
Dyck (Baxter); and four sons, James Jr.,
David and Robert, all of Seaforth, and
Richard of Cold Lake, Alberta.
Also surviving are stepson Leonard Bax-
ter of Grimsby; stepdaughters, Brenda
Kenny of Seaforth, and Deborah Reid and
Jane McClinchey, both of Goderich; 20
grandchildren and one great grandchild;
and a sister Isabella Watson of Cambridge.
Mr. vratson was predeceased by his first
wife, the former Angelina Roselli, and two
brothers, Peter and ",obert.
Friends were received at the Whitney -
'bey funeral home, 87 Goderich Street
West, Seaforth, and a service was held on
Monday. Burial will be in Maitlandbank
Cemetery.
A Royal Canadian Legion service was
held Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were George Case, Allan
Nicholson, Bill Wilbee, George Earl, Ken
Coombs and Jack Eisler.

in F was given by Candace Cooper. Barbara
Cooper presided at the organ.
Present for this service were the grand-
parents and great grandparents of Darren
Ross Love.
Welcomed at this occasion was Grace
Love, Clinton, a former member of Kippen
Church.
PEOPLE
Mrs. and Mrs. Tom Munroe have returned
from Lake Havasu City, Arizona where they
spent the winter.

The Kippen Gun club met on Tues-
day,April 12 with 24 shooters. Results were
