The market at Brussels Stockyards sold
sharply higher at prices;2 and ;3 above last
week's market. Cows and pigs sold steady,
and sheep and lambs traded steady. There
were 691 cattle, 304 pigs and 72 sheep and
lambs on offer.
Choice Steers - 92.00 to 97.00 with sales to
106.00
Good Steers - 89.00 to 92.00
A steer consigned by George Adams of RR
2, Wroxeter, weighing 1290 lb., sold for
108.00 and was purchased by Northern Beef
Corporation of RR 2, Proton Station, while
his total offering of forty-nine steers,
averaging 1320 ib., selling for an overall
price of 93.19.
A steer consigned by Maple Emblem Farms
of RR 1, Dungannon, weighing 1240 lb., sold
for 104.00, with their total lot of twenty-
seven steers, averaging 1231 lb., selling for
an average price of 95.97.
Twenty-four steers consigned by J & M
Ranch of Brussels, averaging 1251 lb., sold
for an overall price of 95.83, with sales to
100.00.
Three steers consi a ed by Bruce Campbell,
of RR 1, Belgrave, averaging 1297 lb., sold
for 95.42, with sales to 99.75.
A Steer consigned by Michiels Farms Ltd.,
of RR 1 Sebringville, weighing 1243 ib., sold
for 99.25, with their total offering of fifteen
steers, averaging 1243 lb., selling for an
average price of 95.98.
Fifty-four steers consigned by 4arl Fitch of
RR 1, Wroxeter, averaging 1276 ib., sold for
an overall price of 94.48, with sales to 95.60.
A red -white faced steer consigned by
George Underwood Farms of RR 1,
Wingham, weighing 1340 Ib., sold for 97.75,
with their total offering of twenty-six steers
averaging 1354 lb., and selling for an
average price of 92.52.
Twenty-eight steers consigned by Karel
Michiels of RR 1, SebringviUe, averaging
1187 lb., sold for an average price of 92.12,
with sales to 96.75.
A white steer consigned by Jack Cardiff of
RR 5, Brussels, weighing 1000 lb., sold for
95.25, with his total lot of fifteen steers
averaging 9821b., selling for an overall price
of 91.26.
A steer consigned by Jack Glousher of RR 4,
Ingham, weighing 1180 Ib., sold for 97.75.
Seventeen steers consigned by Doug Mason
Farms Ltd., of RR 1, Listowel, averaging
1156 lb., sold for 93.11 with sales to 94.85.
Choice Exotic Heifers - 92.00 to 96.00 with
sales to 105.00
Good Heifers - 89.00 to 92.00
A heifer consigned by Wm. Bennet & Sons
Ltd., of RR 1, Gorrie, weighing 1020 ib., sold
for 105.00, and was purchased by Norwich
Packers of Norwich Ontario, while their
total offering of thirty heifers averaged 1175
Ib. and sold for an overall price of 95.58.
A heifer consigned by Murray Mulvey of RR
1, Clifford, weighing 1120 Ib., sold for 101.00,
with his total lot of five heifers, averaging
1090 1b., selling for an price of 97.89.
A heifer consigned by G. Mac Smith of RR 2,
Listowel, weighing 1230 1b., sold for 95.75.
Four heifers consigned by Fred Marshall of
RR 3, Fergus, averaging 1203 Ib., sold for
94.02 with sales to 95.25.
Ten heifers consigned by Bruce Campbell of
RR 1, Belgrave, averaging 1120 lb., sold for
an tiverage price of 93.26, with sales to 94.75.

Good Cows - 59.00 to 64.00
Canners and Cutters - 56.00 to 59.00
50 - 60 lb. pigs traded to a high of .94 per lb.
60 - 70 lb. pigs traded to a high of .80 per lb.
70 - 80 Ib. pigs traded to a high of .86 per lb.
40 - 50 Ib. lambs traded to a high of 1.92 per
Ib.
50 - 601b. lambs traded to a high of 1.89 per
lb.
60 - 701b. Iambs traded to a high of 1.77 per
lb.
Brussels Stockyards will be holding
another sheep and lamb sale on Friday,
April at 3 p.m.
Consignments are being taken for the first
spring stocker sale and feeder sale to be
held Tuesday, April 12. Please phone

The Seaforth Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society
is conducting Its annual fund raising campaign from
April- 1 to April 30, 1988;

for cancer research and local cancer care service; -
