Legion mixed bowling well attended
The Legion Invitational Mixed Bowling
tournament held Saturday was well attend-
ed with 25 teams competing from as far
away as Toronto. A team from Hanover was
the overall winner with two teams from
Seaforth placing second and third. The team
of Jack and Marg Ungarian, Mary and Ron
Heileman and Elinor and Ken Pearce plac-
ed second and the team of Helen and Al
Nicholson, Doris Hugill, Neil Beuerman and
John and Jean Cairns placed third. After the
bowling a delicious supper was served by
the Ladies Auxiliary and the remainder of
the evening was spent dancing.
Last Sunday a Seminary for Service Of-
ficers was held in Sarnia with Cleave
Coombs and Gordon Scott and their wives
attending. All categories of service work
and all programs regarding seniors were

covered. Any Veteran wishing to find out
what benefits he is entitled to, call Cleave
Coombs for an appointment with the
Department of Veterans' Affairs
representative.
The bus for the tour of Goderich, Grand
Bend, Exeter, St. Marys and Stratford will
be leaving the Branch at noon. There will
still seats available at time of writing.
Anyone wanting to go should put their name
on the list.
The dart league is having its annual
potluck supper Saturday at 7 pm. Anyone
who has played darts this year or past years
is welcome to attend.
There will he a stag euchre Wednesday
(tonight) at 8 pm.
The District meeting is being held in
Hanover on April 9 and 10. Anyone wishing a
ride please get in touch with President Jim
Watson.
At the going down of the sun and in the
morning we will remember them.

Doug Elliott guest speaker of Tuckersmith Tycoons
The first and second meetings of the
Tuckersmith Tycoons were held on
February 23 and March 2 at the homes of
Jim Papple and Jack McLachlan.
At the first meeting members elected the
officers for their club. They are as follows;
President - Jane Papple, Vice -President -
Rob Charters and Secretary/Press
Reporter - floating.
At the second meeting members had a
guest speaker, Doug Elliot who spoke to
members about various areas of financial
matters and various financial institutes.
Everyone appreciated the time Doug spent
with the club, and learned a lot.

fourth meeting of the Tuckersmith Tycoons
4-H Club, held at the home of Joan Tabberts.

CHARLES RICHARDSON MERRILL
Charles Richardson Merrill, of RR1 Clin-
ton, died in Hallett Township on March 14.
He was 75 years old.
Mr. Merrill was born in Goderich
Township on February 10, 1913 to the late
William John and Ethel Melvina (Smith)
Merrill.
He is predeceased by his first wife,
Evelyn Wilson and is survived by his se-
cond wife, the former Evelyn Millian.
Mr. Merrill was a farmer' and a church
organist, known by many as over his
musical career he played in Londesboro
United Church, the Goderich Baptist
Church, the First Presbyterian Church,
Seaforth, St. Paul's Anglican Church,
Wesley -Willis United Church, Clinton and
his current church, St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church, Clinton.
Mr. Merrill was an Associate Member of
the Canadian Forresters, Benmiller Court,
and a member of the Ontario Street United
Church.
He is survived by his children, Ruth and
Charles Scholey of Agincourt; Margaret
and Glen Gagan of Lambeth; Sandra and
Clayton Connell of Lambeth; Janette and
Doug Henry of London; Mary Lyn Merrill
of Tofield; William and Allana Merrill of
Orangeville; Pat and Fred Tyndall of Lon-
don; Wayne and Marie Millian,-Barry'and
Irene Millian, William and Sherri Millian,
all of RR5 Goderich and Clare Million of
RR3 Auburn.
Mr. Merrill is also survived by 22
grandchildren.
Mr. Merrill rested at the Ball and
Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton and a
funeral service was held on March 18. Rev.
David Woodall of Ontario Street United
Church officiated with the assistance of
Rev. William Barber of St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church where Mr. Merrill
was the church organist.
Pallbearers were Clayton Ellis, William
Gerrits, William Gibbings, Mark Jenkins,
Tlelman Westerhout and Garnet Wright.
Interment in Clinton Cemetery.
CARL ROBERT (KELLY) DALTON
Catl Robert (Kelly) Dalton of Seaforth,
died Monday, March 28, 1988 in St.
Petersburg, Florida. He was 82.
A one-time reeve of Seaforth and member
of the the local conservation authority, Mr.
Dalton is survived by his wife Dorothy of
Londesboro; sons, Percy and his wife Mavis
of Seaforth, Murray and friend Janet of
Seaforth and Douglas and friend Jean of
Goderich and by a daughter Doris Muir and
husband Dave.
Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and
33 great grandchildren and sisters, Hattie
(Mrs. Murray Savage) and Aileen (Mrs.
Christy) of Toronto.
Mr. Dalton was predeceased by three
sisters, Leta (Mrs. Foster Fowler) of Mit-
chell, Alma (Mrs. Robert Beare) of Toronto
and Gladys (Mrs. Harry Howe) of Niagara
Fails.
Relatives and friends will be received at
the Whitney-Ribey Funeral after 2 p.m.
Wednesday until 2:30 p.m. Thursday when a
funeral service will be held. Spring inter-
ment Maitlandbank Cemetery, Seaforth.
As expressions of sympathy donations
may be made to the charity of one's choice.
BEATRICE REGIER
Beatrice Regier of Seaforth died Wednes-
day, March 23, 1988 at the Seaforth Manor.
She was 86.
Mrs. Regier is survived by two sons, Alvin
of Seaforth and Joe of Edmonton, and one
daughter Dorene Smith of Mississauga.
Also surviving are one brother Roy Rau of
Egmondville, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-
grandchildren.
Mrs. Regier was predeceased by her hus-
band John Regier; two brothers, Alvin and
Verdun and one sister Nona Ross.
The family received friends at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home in Seaforth
and Mass of the Christian burial was held
Friday at St. James Roman Catholic
Church, Seaforth. Spring interment St.
James Cemetery. Parish prayers were said
at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were great grandson Scott
Mee of Brandford, grandsons Paul and
Peter Smith of Mississauga, Mickey Willace
of North Bay and Michael Regier of
Seaforth and friend of the family, Michael
Trapnell of�Seaforth.
URSULA TEICBERT
Ursula Teichert of Goderich died
Tuesday, March 15 in Frankfurt, Germany
at the age of 58.
She was an x-ray techician at Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital in Goderich
for the past 25 years.
Surviving is her tilbtlier, Mrs. Elsa
Weimann of Seaforth; her husband, Karl
Teichert; son Karl and his wife Sheila of
Seaforth; daughter Petra and her husband
Doug Roulston of Goderich; son Peter and
his wife Brenda of Goderich; and son Perry
and his wife Betty of Ridgetown.
Also surviving are one brother Peter
Weimann of Woodstock and sister Helga
(Mrs. Peter Hellinga) of Sault Ste. Marie.
Six grandchildren also survive.
Her father Walter Weimann predeceased
her.
Cremation took place in Frankfurt, Ger-
many. A private family interment in
Egmondville Cemetery was held.
Donations to Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital, Goderich, as expressions
of sympathy would be appreciated.

BLENDING FACILITY
To better serve Walton area farmers, a new 600
tonne fertilizer blending facility including related
application equipment is being constructed by
Cook's in Walton. It is to be operational by April
4, 1988. Open House Is Thursday, April 7.
Equipped with the Innovative ribbon style blen-
ding unit, Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium
and all micronutrients fertilizers are quickly and
accurately blended to specific requirements at
the rate of 50 tonnes per hour. The new facility
will also allow the blending of fertilizer end seed
for airflow application.
