EN ROUTE TO A DOG - Jane Crowley, like
the others in attendance at a balloon
workshop Thursday, found herself in-
trigued with the interesting things that can
be created with a few twists and turns of a
pencil balloon. Here she attempts to make
.a dog. The workshop was held at
Seaforth's Carnegie Library and instructed
by Marian Doucette of the Huron Library
system. Mcllwraith photo.
TWIST AND TURN - Michael Hamon of
Seaforth would rather not look at the
animal he is creating by twisting and turn-
ing ' a pencil balloon. He was one of the
many who participated in the balloon
workshop at the Carnegie Library on Thurs-
day. Mcllwraith photo.

A CREATIVE BUNCH was in evidence Thursday morning at the Carnegie Library in
Seaforth, when children tried their hand at making animals out of balloons. The balloon
workshop coincided with the March break. Mcllwraith photo.
PUMPING UP SUPPLIES - Marian
Doucette readies a number of pencil
balloons for the balloon workshop she con-
ducted Thursday at Seaforth's Carnegie

local children how to create a number of
animals and such, with the air -inflated ob-
jects. Her workshop coincided with the
March break. Mcllwraith photo.

"In our business the customer is King"
On Friday afternoon residents again en-
joyed the music of Marie Flynn and or-
chestra. On violin were Wilson McCarb'iey
and Warren Whitmore with Harold Black on
electric guitar. They too wore something
green and many good toe tapping tunes had
residents and guests up dancing and singing
along.
Ila Gardner presented Marie with a
shamrock plant in appreciation. Two
members who usually are here to play with
the group, Stan Hillen and Lorne Lawson
are presently confined to hospital.
On Tuesday last week ladies made cookies
for St. Patrick's Day. In the afternoon
SDHS
residents viewed the film of "Old Yeller"
and Harry and the Henderson's.
Worship Service was conducted W es -
day by Rev. Glen Sadiier of Bethel tele
Church. In charge of the music were Mr.
and Mrs. Mervyn Lobb of Clinton who have
been faithful attendants at services at
Seaforth Manor for over 10 years. During
that time they have contributed musically

organ or piano and Mr. Lobb for his many

site. "A reciprocal arrangement exchang-
ing the use of school facilities or equipment
would also be considered," he suggested. In-
terested parties could contact the school
directly at 527-0380.
"The 'school is commencing a survey of
recent dropouts this week," according to
Mr. Moore. "Any young person without a
highschool diploma, and having left school
for at least a one month period would be con-
sidered for enrolment," he says.
The board's experience so far indicates
there may be more candidates than
originally anticipated. In the first program,
presently operating at Central Huron Secon-
dary School in Clinton, 33 dropouts have re-
quested admission in just a two month
period. Twelve were expected. It is ex-
pected that most young persons applying
will have, been out of school one or more
years.
An Admissions Committee to review ap-
plications will include the school ad-
ministration, Superintendent Carroll, the
Student Services Coordinator Verna Kane,
and Cooperative Education Coordinator
Linda McKenzie. The program will be staff-
ed according to student numbers created.
