St. Columban scene of bridal shower

A miscellaneous bridal shower was held
on Sunday afternoon for Barb Meikle in the
St. Columban Church hall:
The shower was given by the Nolan
Sisters and in attendance were Barb's
mother and grandmother, her bridesmaids
and relatives and neighbors of Joe and
Helep Nolan, parents of the groom -to -be
Eugene Nolan.
Barb received many useful gifts and
thanked everyone for them after which the
ladies enjoyed a very delicious lunch.
Barb and Eugene will be married on April
30 in the St. Columban Catholic Church.
Seven tables were in play at the Knights of
Columbus euchre game on Friday evening
in St. Columban.
The winners were: ladies' high, Russel
Smith (playing as a lady); low, Mamie
Delaney; men's high, Frank Doyle; low

Spring was the theme of the March
meeting of the Marian Ritchie Women's
Missionary Society when they met on Tues-
day afternoon. Edna Stoneman presided
and opened with a reading on Spring. Agnes
Lamond led in the devotions, interspersing
the meditation with unison readings from
the bible. , .

Knights of Columbus hall in St. Columban.

Don Melady of Western University, Lon-
don spent the weekend with his parents, Ted
and Frances Melady.
Gary and Joanne Schleen of London were
with Roy and Angeline Swart for the
weekend.
Don and Brenda Ryan, Matthew, Stephen,
David and Angela of London and Louise
Ryan of Kitchener spent the weekend with
Clarence and Cecilia Ryan.
Sympathy of the community is extended
to the brothers and sisters of Leo O'Sullivan
who passed away on Saturday in . the
Seaforth Community Hospital. Mass of the
Christian Burial was held on Monday morn-
ing at St. Colnmbar' Catholic Church.
Sympathy also to Ray and Eleanor
Maloney on the passing of Frank Bowman,
Eleanor's father, last week in Stratford.
Also to his wife Annie and daughters Cleo
and Regina and their families. Funeral
mass was said on Thursday at St. Joseph's
Church, Stratford.
Get well wishes from the community go to
Ann Vogels who is a patient in the Seaforth
Community Hospital.

Mississauga visited on the weekend with her
grandparents Ab and Eileen Cronin.

the Murray family, including .Alexan-
't11ra's great-grandmother Camilla Murray
Evans of Dublin and her grandmother
Marie Evans Cleary of London. As you can
see in the photo the gown with its rows of
handstitched tucks and lace one again rose
to the occasion and fulfilled the part.

The grandson of Don and Eileen MacRae,
Trevor Ian, the son of Nora Ann (MacRae)
and Ian Jackson, was baptized on Sunday in
London. The Godparents are James D.
MacRae, London, and Bernadette Simpson
of Miami, Florida, formerly Nagle of
Dublin.
Dinner guests at their home were grand-
parents Don and Eileen, and Grandma
Jackson of London, Mike and Patricia,
Kurt, Marci, Denise and Joey MacRae,
Dublin, and James and Marg, Jennifer and
Ian MacRae of London, and Ian's sister and
husband of London.
Mary Evans, niece of Millie Evans, and
Madeline Peiche, both of Windsor, visited
for a couple of days last week with Mrs.

Holidaying with Don and Eileen MacRae
for a few days during the 'school March
break were Chad Wolfe, Mitchell, and Joey
MacRae, Dublin.
There was a good crowd at the regular
meeting of the Father Stephen Eckert Coun-
cil, Knights of Columbus, last Thursday
night.
This was an Inter -Council meeting with
brothers from Strathroy, Listowel, Mitchell,
Kingsbridge, Goderich, Clinton, Zurich and
Bluewater.
Guest speaker was Constable Ron Dunn of
Sebringville who showed a video of the
Crime Stoppers program for Perth County.
He was introduced by Lecturer Don
MacRae and thanked by Brother Phil
Durand and presented with a donation to the
Crime Stoppers. The night concluded with a
question and answer period.
