MANOR HOCKEY
The Hensall Minor Hockey Season is
drawing to a close. 'This past year .68
children participated in Hensa, l's Minor
Hockey program. Although not always win-
ners the teams continue to provide excite-
ment in a sportsman-like manner.
Increased costs for ice rental this year
made fund raising a major responsibility for
the club. In support of this, the annual Rec
League Tournament was held early in
February and raised almost $300. The skate -
a -thou held earlier raised approximately
$1600. Due to poor attendance in the past
couple of years, the Minor Hockey Dance
was not held this year.
The annual potluck supper, which in-
cludes awards for all minor hockey par-
ticipants, will be held on April 10,1988 begin-
ning at 4 p.m. at the Hensall Arena. A guest
speaker will again be part of the program.
Drinks will be provided for the children as
well as coffee for the parents. As usual,
please bring enough food to feed your family
and everyone will share. This banquet is a
fitting finale to the hockey season.
On the second Tuesday of each month a
Parent's meeting is held at the Arena. At the
meeting all activities pertaining to Minor
Hockey are discussed. Come out to the
meeting and.have a say in the running of the
club. To share the responsibility is only -fair.
Next on the agenda is the playoffs. Come
to the Arena and cheer on your child or
grandchild or friend or neighbor. These
young athletes are worthy of your support.
'NOVICE HOCKEY
The Hensall Novice Hockey team played
an exhibition game against the Exeter
House Team on March 9. Hensall's Brock
Weiss, Greg Keys and Mark Bell led Hensall
to a 3-0 victory over Exeter. Jamie Camp-
bell contributed with two assists and goalie
Eric Groot chalked up another shutout.

Queensway residents attended story time
in the sun room last Monday morning.
Readers Digest is a favorite source of
material. The Hensall United Church ladies
joined residents in the afternoon for Bingo.
The residents enjoyed the prizes donated by
these ladies and their visit.
Tuesday morning fun and fitness loosened
residents up. After everyone felt well awake
from their exercise routine they played
their spelling and geography games. Pastor
Arbogast of the Exeter Christian Reformed
Church visited Tuesday afternoon and led
the worship service. Residents were pleased
to welcome him and were especially
ministered to by his singing and guitar
solos.
Wednesday morning the Queensway
ladies auxiliary met. They are making plans
to start work on crafts with the residents in
preparation for the Hensall Yard Sale com-
ing up in May.
"Chisum" starring John Wayne was the
featured film for Thursday evening — a
western that many remembered seeing
many years ago.
Friday afternoon several residents en-
joyed stirring up a batch oLraisin scones.
These were enjoyed warm from the oven
with a pot of tea.
Residents are looking forward to
celebrating St. Patrick's Day Thursday,
March 17 with Marie Flynn and the Huron
Strings.
Queensway wishes to express its sym-
pathy to the family and friends of Bill
McKenzie who passed away recently. He
will be missed by all.
