Bantams enter third
game of playoffs
The Seaforth Bantams have played two
games of a best three -out -of -five WOAA play
off against Harriston, and are behind going
into the third game.
Seaforth led 3-1 going into the third period
of Thursday night's game in Harriston, but
Harriston came back to win 4-3.
Seaforth goals were scored by Brent van
den Akker, Jason McNichol and Ray Mur-
ray. In addition to their goals those players
each had one assist. Mike Boven and Jason
Schoonderwoerd also had assists.
In Seaforth on Saturday night the game
was tied 1-1 until the third period. But again
Harriston went ahead in the last stanza to
win the game 3-1.
Ray Murray, assisted by Jason McNichol,
scored for Seaforth.
Midgets get win
to stay in series
The Seaforth Midgets needed a win at
home Tuesday against Palmerston to keep
in OMHA finals. Whether or not they ac-
complished that feat was unknown at press
time.
Sunday night in Palmerston proved vic-
torious for Seaforth. They won 3-1.
After a scoreless first period, Terry Gray
finally broke the ice for Seaforth in the se-
cond stanza when he recorded a goal,
assisted by Brad Carter. Palmerston
however, answered with a goal of their own.
Andy Ball, assisted by Blair Beuermann
and Ray Murray, assisted by Carter and
Mike Schoonderwoerd, gave Seaforth the
points they needed for the win.
VOLLEYBALL ACTION - Rudy Jansen sets the ball up for teammate Rita Core to move
in and spike while Dawn Papple and Doug Procter wait on the other side of the net to
return the ball. The volleyball program sponsored by the Seaforth Recreation Depart-
ment and organized by Terri Dale is almost at the end of its 20 week duration. Corbett

LADIES BROOMBALL
PARR LINE 3 - QUEENS 1
The season is done early for these two
teams. Parr Line took three games straight.
Sharon Whitefield's eagerness paid off as
she boldly engaged in a couple of goals.
Passing was by Sandra Wilson and Lori
Symons. Defenceman Joan Henderson
scored unassisted. Jean Haggitt scored for
the Queens with passing by Brenda Empy.
Good luck next year ladies.
WINTHROP 4 - COMMERCIAL 2
Graceful Donna Arts observed the oppor-
tunity to score for Winthrop with Deb Mur-
ray assisting. Susan Hulley trudged through
with a couple of tremendous goals and Don-
na Arts was by her side for both goals.
Rookie Kathy Larone politely smacked the
ball into the net as she was in the right spot
and waiting for the right opportunity. Janet
Nicholson was a helping hand. Bev Shea got
a break for the commercial as her powerful
shot broke through the goalie's legs. Marie
T. Flanagan gave a slap shot into the net as
Audrey Schenk delivers an essential pass.
PERTH 2 -JR. FARMERS 1
Liz Rhode pushed through and came out
ahead with a goal. Her perfected pass came
from Lori Hill. Lynda Doupe's choice goal
was helped by Vickie Innes. With the game
tied up Rookie Beth Consitt had thirty-five
seconds to put the ball into the net. Karen
McLagan and Paula Sereda helped.
Tonight at 9 p.m. Winthrop vs. Commer-
cial and at 9:50 p.m. Perth vs. Jr. Farmers.
MEN'S BROOMBALL
WINTHROP 1- RAIDERS 0
Dan McNichol stood at centre ice and
there was no one else on the ice to pass the
ball to, Dan scored unassisted. The Raiders
got robbed on this game with the suspension
held over their heads.
GRADS 3 - PARR LINE 3
Henry Wydeven and Adrian Wydeven
scored a couple of goals and assisted each
other. Extra assistance came from Craig
Smith. An innovative shot by Tony
Vandenheuvel on a weird angle dislodged
the ball directly into the net, with a pass
from Al Walters. Parr Line picked up their
socks and had a superb comeback with
Steve Rowat gaining two goals, after pass-
ing by Paul Nurse, Rod Merrier and Paul
Middleton. Craig Piet accumulated with
passing by Verne Thompson and Steve
Koscihs.
MUSTANGS 0- RUSTLERS 1
Paul Hoggarth contemplated on whether
to shoot or not after Art Veenstra arranged
a pass to him. Paul finally did shoot and
scored. Mustang men had trouble trying to
compete with opposing players and refs.
Even finding a break all night to produce a
goal to tie the game up, was difficult.

Rustlers, at 8:20 p.m. Parr Line vs. Royals,
at 9:10 p.m. Chiselhurst vs. Winthrop, at 10
