Family present were daughter Rose Altman and grandaughters Germaine Stem- mler and Diane Altman, both of Kitchener. Dave and Eva received a beautiful bouquet of roses from Rose and Pat and Mel and his wife. Jim Watson presented them with a pot- ted flowering begonia on behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion. MPP Jack Riddell's secretary delivered a personally signed pla- que by the Honorable David Peterson on behalf of the Ontario Government and on Saturday cousins of Mr. Netzke, from Mildmay, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Mawhinney visited and presented them with a bouquet of red carnations. They were also the rece- pients of many congratulatory cards. A cake was served at noon hour in their honor and also Dave and Eva presented each resi- dent, staff and visitor with a piece of wed- ding cake. Sincere good wishes go out to these two on this special occasion. Worship Service was held at Seaforth Manor on Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Glenn Sadlier of Bethel Bible Church in charge. Thursday afternoon films were shown and ori Tuesday morning Junior ,Volunteers from Seaforth Public School assisted with wheelchair bowling. Tuesday afternoon a good number of residents enjoyed playing bingo. Last Monday it was exercise in the morning and in the afternoon two tables Highlighting last week's activities at Seaforth Manor was the celebrating of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Netzke's 74th anniversary on Friday. During the afternoon good old tyme music was provided by Marie Flynn and the Huron Strings orchestra. Commemorating the anniversary of "Robbie Burns" birthday residents were • privileged to have Gordon Wright visit and show his slides of The Scottish Border and Sir Walter Scott which took residents visula- ly from Toronto International Airport to Scotland and through Robbie Burns' coun- try where he was born and died. Commen- tary was written and voiced by Gordon and residents appreciated the opportunity to view these beautiful slides. A number of visitors were also present for the afternoon. PERSONALS Visiting with Inez Spittal"were Grace Cor- nish, Elsie Southgate and daughter Nancy Larone. Glen Rose visited his wife at Maplewood Manor last Wednesday. Visiting with Alice Boyes during the week were son Jim, daughters Dorothy Uniac and Helen Consitt and husband Ed Boyes. Violet Elgie visited residents on Friday afternoon and attended the anniversary par- ty for Dave and Eva Netlike. Helen Morris was visited by her daughter Josie Nigh and grandaughter Lynn. Mary K. Ryan was visited by son Pat and Geraldine and Ann Wilson. Also on Friday she spent the day with Teresa and George Simpson. Visiting with Norma Jeffrey was Sheila Morton. Len Bloomfield spent last Friday in Goderich with his family. Visiting Bill Scott on Friday was his wife Isabel. Ethel Optimists donate $500 Representatives of the Seaforth Minor Hockey Association were present at the January dinner meeting of the Seaforth Op- timist Club, to accept a cheque for $500. The presentation was made by Randy Gridzak to Jerry Vanden Hengel and Rick Woods. In other Optimist acttivities: The winter carnival was a success with Lisa Strong crowned Optimist Queen at a teen dance friday night. She received the crown from 1987 Carnival Queen Rhonda Farag. Contestants this year contest were; Lisa Strong, Donna Godkin, Ann Robinson, Martha Hook, Tracey Reed and Andrea Muir. Jim Kelly was the winner of a color televi- sion set in a draw made January 17, and Ted Sills won $25.
