United Church Women everywh
1987 celebrated their 25th annive m an
• organization. The UCW of Duffs' United
Church of Walton began their year with a
Sunday morning worship service for which
Annie Reid, the first president in 1962,
prepared and gave a splendid message on
"Called To Respond - 25 years of United
Church Women" the theme for the year.
During 1987, programs from the previous
25 years were collected and placed in a
black Naugahyde binder, suitably labelled
with name and crest, with space left for
future programs to be added m a continuing
record of the organization.
In honor of the past presidents, 25 brass
plates were placed on an oak plaque cut in
the shape of the UCW crest. The names and
years of terms of our 12 past presidents, up
to this time, were engraved.
A tree is to be planted at the 'front corner
of the Walton Church in the spring to com-
memorate the UCW's past 25 years anti to
grow along with the organization in the
years to come.
To complete a very special year, former
members and Walton United Church
Women gathered in the basement of Duffs'
United Church, December 2, for 'a
Christmas Pot Luck Supper and meeting.
