Manor resident
"Birthday Greetings" to James Nolan
who on Friday celebrated his 85th birthday.
Residents and staff sang Happy Birthday to
him at noon.
Tuesday morning Kevin Langille,
Lorianne McClure, Cynthia McCallum and
Charlotte 'Laycox, volunteer students of
Seaforth Public School, assisted with
wheelchair bowling. In the afternoon
residents played bingo in the activity room.
'The Worship service was held on Wednes-
day with Rev. William Barber in charge.
Henrietta Brown accompanied at the piano
for the hymns.
On Thursday residents enjoyed euchre
with volunteer ladies assisting. Lucky win-
ners were Ladies high - Mamie Ross, Men's
high - Keith Herman and most lone hands -
Keith Herman. Consolation prizes went to
Irene Omand and Ed Dunn. Friday morning
was exercise time in the sitting room and in
the afternoon films were shown in the activi-
ty room.
Visiting with Mary K. Ryan during the
week were Geraldine and Ann Wilson, her
son Mhurice, and daughter Mary Margaret
Maloney. She also spent Saturday with
Theresa and George Simpson.
Visiting with Norma Jeffrey were Mr. and
Mrs. Dave Stewart on Wednesday and Mary
Little and Alice Reid on Saturday.
Ursulla O'Sullivan visited her brother
Leo.
Helen Consitt visited her mother Alice
Boyes, also husband Ed visited.
Marjorie Rock visited her aunt Lillie
Hudie. Jim Boyes visited his mother Alice
Boyes on Thursday.
James A. Scott visited with Norma Jef-
frey and Glen Rose.
Visiting with Inez Spittal were Mr. and

Mrs. Peter Spittal and son, also Elle
Southgate.
Barbara Alexander of Egmondville
visited her mother Cassie Nicholson.
Helen Morris enjoyed an outing with son
Bill on Saturday.
Pat and Rose Altman visited with Eva
Netzke. We are sorry to report Dave Netzke
is in hospital but we wish him a speedy
recovery.
Audrey Cameron visited her mother-in-
law Verda Cameron.
Bill Scott had wife Isabel to visit him.
Visiting with Glen Rose were John Swinkles
and Betty and Pete Swinkles. Elias and Ok-
ja Little visited Eva Netzke.
Helen and Alex Chesney visited with Alice
Boyes and Frank and Margaret Smale.
Eva McCartney visited with Frank and
Margaret Smale on Thursday and also
played euchre with residents and
volunteers.
Dave and Eva Netzke will be celebating
their 74th wedding anniversary at Seaforth
Manor on Friday, January 22. What wonder-
ful memories they must have of a life shared
together for 74 years.

O'REILLY-LUYTEN
Marlene Ann O'Reilly and Kenneth John
Luyten were married in a double ring
ceremony Saturday„October 3, 1987 at St.
Columban Catholic Church by the Reverend
Father Andrew Sipek. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. O'Reilly
of RR 2 Dublin and the -groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Luyten of RR 5 Mitchell.
Music was provided by Jayne and Lucille
Delaney. Maid of honor was Carolyn O'Reil-
ly, sister of the bride, and bridesmaids were
Janet Greenwood and Sandra O'Reilly, also
sisters of the bride, Patricia Luyten, sister
of the groom, and Brenda Devereaux,
cousin of the bride. Best man was Ed
Luyten, brother of the groom and guests
were ushered by Rob and Pete Luyten, also
brothers of the groom, and Gary and Tom
O'Reilly, brothers of the bride. Master of
ceremonies was Dennis O'Reilly. Guests at-
tended the wedding from Holland, Toronto,
Windsor, Sarnia, London, Guelph, Tilison-
burg and surrounding areas. Following the
dinner and reception at the Mitchell Com-
munity Centre, the couple spent their honey-
moon at the Pocono Mountains in Penn-
sylvania. They are currently residing in St.
Marys.
BOLTON - Carl and Val are pleased to an-
nounce the safe arrival of Matthew Alex-
ander on December 17, 1987,1veighing 7 lbs.,
4 ozs. Happy grandparents are Art and
Marie Bolton, Winthrop and Charlie and
Mary Hryrnak of Portage La Prairie,
Manitoba.
HEIMPEL - On December 31, 1987 Norman
and Joanne Heimpel received into their care
another son, Adam Karl. A little brother for
Krista and Edward. Spoiling privileges go to
grandparents Ted and Leona Heimpel of
Mitchell and Gerrit and Nel Boven of
Seaforth and great grandmother Hendrika
Boven of Brampton.
DEJONG - With praise to God, Jerry and
Brenda DeJong are pleased to announce the
birth of their son Matthew Gordon, born at
St. Joseph's Hospital, London on January
10, 1988 weighing 8 lbs., 12 ozs. Proud grand-
parents are Gordon 'and Mary DeJong of
Brucefield and Gordon and Marian Pullman
of Seaforth. Great grandparents are Harvey
and Ida McLlwain of Egmondville and John
Pullman.of Seaforth.
WALLACE - Richard and Lynda are pleased
to announce the safe arrival of their son,
Gregory Douglas Ronald, born -December
24, 1987 at St. Joseph's Hospital, London,
weighing 5 lbs., 7 ozs. A' little brother for
Jennifer and another grandchild for Betty
and Ronald Boyce of RR 1 St. Pauls and
sixth grandson for Doug and Joyce Wallace
of RR 4 Seaforth.
WARD - Graham and Gillian (Stevens) are
happy to announce the birth of their
daughter, Amy Kirsten on January 9, 1988.
Proud grandparents are Jack and Audry
Stevens of London and Frank and 011ie
Ward of Monkton.
CORBETT - Jeff and Sheila are pleased to
announce the birth of their sgn Michael Jef-
frey Ross, 6 lbs., 6 ozs. on December 30, 1987
at St. Joseph's Hospital, London. A new
playmate for Lindsay. Spoiling privileges
are reserved for grandparents, Ross and
Loretta Riley and Ross and Donna Corbett.

OBITUARIES
QUEEN'S
RUBY ANDERSON
Ruby Anderson of the Exeter Villa and
formerly of Seaforth, died Monday,
January 11, 1988 at the Exeter Villa. She
was 82. '
Mrs. Anderson was born in Stanley
Township on September 15, 1905 to the late
Henry Erratt and former Mary Ann
Robinson.
She is survived by three daughters,
Leona (Mrs. Clare Porter) of Stratford,
Marjorie (Mrs. Jerry Martell) of Arichat,
Nova Scotia and Carol Carleton of Dundas.
Also surviving are five grandchildren,
Cheryl, Michael, Mark, David and Hal and
a sister Olive (Mrs. George Stephenson) of
Varna.
Mrs. Anderson was predeceased by her
husband George Gartshore Anderson and
one brother Russell Erratt.
Friends were received at the Ball and
Falconer "Box Funeral Chapel", Seaforth,
where the funeral service was held on
January 14. The Reverend Lorne Keays of
the Brucefield United Church officiated.
Interment in Baird's Cemetery, Stanley
Township.
ALICE NIXON
Alice H. Nixon of RR 4 Seaforth, died Sun-
day, January 10, 1988 at the Stratford
General Hospital. She was 77.
Born on February 9, 1929 she was a
daughter of the late Daniel Munro and the
former Susie Hemsley of Brucefield. Mrs.
Nixon was a member of First Presbyterian
Church and was active in the Barbara
Kirkman group of the church. She had also
been an active member of the former Home
and School Association.
Mrs. Nixon is survived by her husband,
Dale NiXon; five daughters, Mrs. Walter
(Sue) Woytowich of Windsor, Mrs. Charles
(Alice Ann) Tolton, Mrs. Jim (Gene)
Baynham and Mrs. Carl (Lynn)' Crossett,
all of London, and Debbie Nixon of Seaforth
and one son, Glen and wife Lola of Hensall.
Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Helen
Mason of Guelph, 16 grandchildren and one
great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one son James in
1985 and one brother George.
Friends were received at the Whitney-
Ribey funeral home in Seaforth and a
funeral service was held Tuesday. Burial
was in Maitlandbank Cemtery. Pallbearers
'were Ray Devereaux, Larry Ritchie, Jim'
McGregor, John McGregor, Ron Mason and
John Mason.
Mrs. Nixon will be lovingly remembered
for her may acts of kindness and
thoughtfulness towards friends and ac
quaintenances in times of sorrow and joy.
ELFIE MAY THOMPSON
Elfie May Thompson of Huronview and
formerly of Barrie, died Monday, January
18, 1988 at the Clinton Public Hospital. She
was 88.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by one son,
Dr. William Thompson. of Seaforth and one
daughter, Lois Richardson of Barrie. She
was predeceased by her husband Ross
Thompson.
A memorial service will be held at the
Church of Christ, Barrie at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Interment Maple Ridge Cemetery, Chester-
ville. There will be no funeral home
visitation.
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Homes, Seaforth
in charge of arrangements.
