This year Crawford's Scottish Butchers
will be supplying a goodly portion of this
delicate morsel, which will be piped into the
supper room carried by the chief and ad-
dressed with Burns 'Ode To A Haggis' by the
Master of ceremonies.
Haggis is not the only thing eaten at a
Burns Supper the traditional menu is Cock-
A-Leekie Soup (chicken soup with leeks),
Chappit Tattles (mashed potatoes), Bashed
Neeps (mashed turnip), baby carrots or
Brussels Sprouts, Roast Beef or Steak pie,
Haggis (as a side dish), Scotch Trifle, Oat-
cakes and Cheese.
Burns does not need this celebration as his
songs andhave guaranteed him im-
mortality. Me who need the celebration
to remind us of the good that is encapsulated
in his works.

popular of the Legion events taking place so
far this year with 11 tables in play last
Wednesday. The next one will be January 20
at 8 p.m. There will be a mixed euchre with
a potluck supper first on January 27.

than 10 members who did not meet the
Early -Bird requirements. It might be an
achievement hard to match another year.
The monthly executive meeting will be
held this Thursday at 8 p.m. Owing to a prier
booking of the hall the regular meeting for
January cannot be held until January 21 at 8
p.m. Please keep this date in mind.
In February there are two events to
remember, the first is a barbecue and dance
for February 6 and the following week is
Honours and Awards night (February 13).
The Bar roster is as follows: - Wednesday
13, Phil Hoggarth; Thursday 14, L. Dalton;
Monday 18, Ken Swan; Tuesday 19, W
Scott; and Wednesday 20, R. Govier.
At the going down of the sun and in du
morning we will remember them.

huge patches of perfectly healthy hair in
order to achieve that "Mr. T." look, while
the balding wretches of the world are spen-
ding thousands of dollars on hair
transplants.
Where's the justice in this?
Of course, where hair is concerned
nothing ever seems fair.
While there are any number of men whn
would be glad to be free of the
ritual of daily shaving, no •ie's r a r

that it seems a cruel twist of fate indee
that the only place one can't be sure of
growing a thick healthy mat of the stuff, is
the one place it is always desirable — on top
of the old noggin.
Of course, worrying about one's hairline
is a simple matter of vanity and ought not
to concern those of us with more pressing
matters to attend.
Now let's see ... where did I put that
ass's hoof?
