South Huron Youth for Christ held its
Christmas Rally on December 5 at Huron
Centennial School, Brucefield.
Prayer was held for the Cudmore family
in the passing of Edgar Cudmore. Mr. Cud -
more was active in South Huron, U.F.E.
since its, beginning in 1949. His keen interest
in young people was shown by his dedication
as Quiz Coach of the Exeter Quiz team for
many years. His faithfulness will long be
remembered by all of those whose lives he
touched.
A Goderich trio consisting of Laurie Con-
eybeare, Angie Hutchins and Wayne
McVicar sang "Jesus got a hold of my Life."
The group was accompanied by Gladys Hut-
chins on piano, Philip Gower on drums and
Larry Hutchins on drums.
The Quiz was on Thessalonians and was
won by Clinton, followed by Zurich, Exeter
and Goderich. The guest trio performed
another song "Lift Him Up" f llowed by an
excellent film "Love Note".efreshmerits
were served.

The Hensall Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and
Ventures will be holding a bottle drive this
Saturday afternoon to raise 'funds for
Open Mon. thru Fri. 8 a.m. to 12 noon

visited last week with cousins Babe
McGregor and Glen and Pearl McKnight.
Jessie Buchanan enjoyed a visit over the
holidays with Betty and Don Flear and fami-
ly of Grand Bend.
Carl and Hilda Payne 'spent a day with
Mrs. Mary and Joan Alexander, Wayne, Iris
and Amberly Payne on the former's farm.
Mary and Don Gravett of Hanover and
Mark Gravett of Toronto spent Christmas
with parents Glen and Pearl McKnight.
Mrs. Nan Britton travelled to Kitchener
over Christmas weekend to spend time with
her son David and family.
Olga and Ernie Chipchase returned
recently from Florida.
Mrs. Margaret Mole spent Boxing_ Day
with son Bob and Betty Mole and family of
Dungannon. Margaret was accompanied by
her daughter Nancy and Jack Phillips and
family of Exeter.
Mrs. Mabel Shirray enjoyed a Christmas
holiday with her son Doug and Karen Shir-
ray, Lynda and Bryan in Tavistock.

HENSALL UNITED CHURCH
Hensall United Church held a lovely
Christmas Eve Communion Service. The
Christmas candles were lit followed by
prayer and the call to worship by Rev. Doug
Wright:
Rob Gackstetter performed a beautiful
solo and the Senior Choir sang a touching
"Christmas 'Lullaby".
A regular Sunday worship service was
conducted December 27 with Reverend
Doug Wright presiding. The choir perform-
ed Brightest and Best to the Sons of the
Morning" with Mrs. Belva F on the
organ.
Dorothy Corbett met worship ers at the
door. Ushers were Mervyn Fi Ids, Steve
Corbett, Peter Pryde and Ken E der.
On Sunday, December 3 worshippers were
greeted at the door by Pat Cook and shown
to their seats by Joanne Fields, Phyllis Par-
sons, Janis Butson and Jane Consitt.
Rev. Douglas Wright led the large con-
gregation through prayer and Call to Wor-
ship. He told the children about the Wise
Men who followed the star to find the infant
Jesus. The Old Testament Lesson was read
by Jr. Minister Janine Hayter, and the Choir
sang "Star of the East" with Belva Fuss on
organ.
The annual meeting of Hensall United
Church will be held on Tuesday, January 19,
beginning with a potluck at 8:30.
PERSONALS
Mrs. Blanche Chapanan of London visited
her sister Mrs. Hazel Corbett over the
Christmas celebration, after having spent
Christmas Day with their brother and
sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Morenz of
Dashwood. They were joined by other
members of the family.
Ron and Susan Hartmann, their son Brad
and good friend Jamie Campbell enjoyed a
wonderful 16 day trip to Florida and Walt
DisneyWorld. They enjoyed near -perfect
weather and had a great and restful time.
Greg, Brenda and Natalie Pulham en-
joyed a Christmas visit in Ottawa with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. McCourt.
Congratulations to Mark and Sandra Con -
sift on the birth of their son, born New
Year's Day.
Felicitations also to Jeff and Sheila Cor-
bett on the arrival of a son last week.
NOVICE HOCKEY
The Hensall Novice team won their first
game in the Huron Park Tournament last
week by defeating Exeter Blue by a score of
7-0. Hensall's goals were scored by Brad
Hartman 2, Graham Keys 2, Greg Keyes 2,
and Mark Bell with a single.
The Hensall team again played well, ,but
were defeated 5-9 by the host team Huron
Park in their second game. The loss
eliminated them from the tournament.
On Tuesday they met the Exeter Novice
Travelling team and were beaten 12-0.
In a regularly.seheduled game on Wednes-
day, Hensall beat Brussels 9-0 with a shut,
out by goalie Eric Groot, and goals by Greg
Keys 3, Mark Bell 2, Jamie Campbell 2 and
one a piece for Graham Keys and Brock
Weiss.
All in all, it was a grueling week for these
8, 9 & 10 year olds who have a record of 77
goals scored and only 34 against with 5 shut
outs so far this season.

drews Church, Kippen on Sunday January 3.
Ministry of music was presented by two
piano soloists: Mark Cooper who played the
theme from "Cheers",and Dana Cooper
who played "School Das".
The official board of the whole pastoral
charge is called to meet on Wednesday
January 13 at 8 pm in the Brucefield Church.
Books to be audited for the year 1987
should be into the hands of the auditors soon,
Kippen auditors are Bob Cooper and David
Cooper. Annual reports of the various
organizationg should be in the hands of Rev.
Lorne Keays no later than Tuesday January
20. Please note reports do not have to be
audited before being turned into the
minister.
Congratulations go out to Marg and Ray
Consitt who became grfindpeeenLa, fgr the
third time on January 1,988, when rarndon
Consitt was born at Victoria Hospital in
London.
Proud and happy parents of their 1st child
are Mark and Sandra Consitt of Hensall.
Queensway residents have memorable week
Christmas week residents enjoyed the
singing of the Lakeview Conservative Youth
on Sunday the 20th.
Monday evening George Mathonia and
friends were in with the Hensall Legion for
an evening of music and refreshments pro-
vided by the Legion.
Tuesday Earl and Doreeen Oesch led our
worship service with Phillippa Steckle as
pianist.
Thursday residents viewed the ovie
"White Christmas" starring Bing Cr by.
Our residents Christmas party was held
Thursday evening with a visit from Santa
bearing gifts for everyone. We sang
Christmas carols with Bill Gibson as
pianist. We ended our evening with a
reading of the Christmas Story and then
sang Silent Night in candlelight. It was a
very special Christmas Eve for all of us,
Rev. Sinasac delivered the sermon for
residents December 28. --An interesting,
t , ught provoking tnessa e. Phillippa
StEc was again our faithful pianist.
The ughlight of the week for all residents

was, ojir Thursday afternoon New Year's
Eve party. We gathered at tables in the Ac-
tivity Room to listen to Guy Lombardo
music and nibble on a variety of fruit
breads, cheese and grapes. Everyone en-
joyed our punch. For our countdown at 3
o'clock, residents crowded into the lobby of
our Nelson Street entrance and released
numerous helium filled balloons into the
frosty December sky.
Residents are looking forward to a low ^�
key week for the beginning of January to
recover from our busy December schedule
just as ar many of you.
Birthda eetings to Bill McKenzie who
celebra birthday in December.
We would like to extend our sympathy to
the families of Chris Steele and Ethel Alex-
ander who passed away this month.
At this time we would like to say thank you
to all our faithful volunteers and our
dedicated Tares auxiliary who together
make each day one to look forward to at
Queensway. All the best le you in 1988.
