for trying to get into ipost secondary school.
is a trying time for students.
This is a time when you need to spoil
yourself a bit When it seems like life is over
and the whole world has come to an end.
you've got to rationally think things through
and treat yourself to an ice cream cone.,
trying to. please and help others that they , Seriously,. an ice cream cone can be the
fOrgetabout themselves. It is a great quality perfect medicine for someone who is ddwn
to carefor others and give a helping hand, but
you should not let your helpfulness interfere
with your well-being or happiness. That is not
, such a great way to be.
There are times when we've got to think of
ourselves, look out for ourselves and even
spoil oursejven a little. I'm sure that a lot of
is important that even in the heat of an
argument you try to listen t the other
person's viewpoints and put yourself in his
shoes. We -all recognize that this is a good
way to be, however we don't always act
accordingly, •
• Thettpgain, some people (and I'm sure you
know people like this) get so worked up in

the dumps. If can cool you off whether you are
hot from the high summer temperatures
and/or hot from an unpleasant experience. -
Have one bowlof ice cream (flavor of yetir
choice) or an ice cream cone, and call me in
the morning if the symptoms persist.
Another way to spoil yourself and make
yourself -feel better is to treat yourself to a
new item of Cleating or another present. Thiel
tochique is usually calorie -free but it is much
more expensive. 1 remeniber One day a few

Hire a student
this summer
Student job opportnnitieS In the area ser-
viced by the Goderich and Exeter Canada
Employment Centres for Students '
markedly better than during a similar
period last year. The CECS staff feel the in-
crease is due to a more buoyant ecomony in
the area and a greater awareness on behalf
of local employers of the Student Centre's
services.
It is hoped that this positive trend will
reign throughout the summer and to help
boost the conununity's awareness of student
help, June 18 to 24 has been declared ME-
A -STUDENT WEA. Many businetses and
homeowners around Goderich are cello
unaware that students can be hired for any
amount of time - an hour, a day, a week or a
month.
To help encourage casual hiring, the
Canada Employment Centre for Stu ents
has been busy lately planning specia pro-
motional events for HIRE -A 'ENT
WEER. These events will include a
P-
ing mall display, the donation of a horse
blanket to the Goderich 'Trotting AssocWarm
as well as the distribution of door knob
hangers to homeowners advertising the odd
lob squad.
In the past, students have worked at
anything and this year is definitely no ex-
ception. lf you have a lawn to cut, a garden
to weed, windows to wash or an attic to
clean - just hire a student
Ry hiring a student net only will you get
your work done quickly but you will also be
providing valuable work experience.
Remember - no matter how menial you
might think the task, it is valuable.
AS of this week, the Canada Employment
Centre for students has approximately 800
students registered who are actively moek-
ing summer employment. This figure is only
an approximation because some students
May have, found jells on their own without
informing the Centre. However, the fact re-
mains that there are many students as of yet
unemployed for the summer.
Students are more than willing to work. So
this simmer why not relax and hire a stu-
dent.
The Canada Employment Centres in
Goderich 024-744) agd Exeter C225,1711)
can provide you with free, fast -service
referrals of candidates. If pa have a job; no
