The Honors and Awards evening"held last
Friday evening was well attended, Special
guests. included District Commander Lloyd
Anderson and his wife Bessie and. Zone
Commander Glenn Bridge and his wife Jean.
• On behalf of the branch I would like to
congratulate the following who received
their long service pins, to Dr. • Toll who
received a Certificate of Merit and to the
new Life Members, George Hays, Frank
Ehillips and D'Orlean Sills.
Long Service Pins went to Jim Dalrymple,
Ken Doig, Bob Doig, Glen Malcolm, Bill
Marks, Dave Nigh and James Scarrow.
THE MUSICAL GROUP, West Virginians,
from the state of West Virginia, delighted a
Seaforth audience In a concert Friday night.
Their selection Included Spirituals, Os and
6ll�music and Dixie Land favorites. Some of
the group are pictured below. Seaforth
Public School "Suzuki students thrilled the
audience with their violins. (Wassink photo)
Ten Year Ordinary went to Mel Huard,
orlon McKenzie and Bob Ste, Marie (noir
deceased);. 20 Year Ordinary went to EarI
Inycoa and Ken Oldacre; 25, Year Ordinary
went to Al Hoff and Ross $male..
Recipients of 30 ;Tear Ordinary were
Margaret Bannon, Stella Beattie, Don Muir
and Harry Scot; 35 Year Ordinary were •
Clair Campbell, Wes Coombs, Bill Durst,
Ken Baton, Gordon Heard, Lloyd Hoggarth,
Terence Hussey, Cecil Lemon, Les Leon-
bardt, Don" MacLean, Harold Pryce, Lloyd
Rowatt, Morley Storey and Henry Ziler; 40
Year Ordinary were D'Orlean Sills, Frank
Sills and Tom Wilbee.
Past Officer Medals went. to Ron Beller,
man, secretary bar; - Gordon De Jong.
Sgt. -at -Arms bar; Jack Muir, first and,
second vice president bar; Jim Watson,.
second vice,., president bar.
The Past President's Medal went to Peter
Malcolm.
Auxiliary members
get 15-35 year pins
Last week, the Auxiliary held their last
meeting before the summer recess. The
usual business was carried out and reports
given by Committee chairmen.
Olave Little reports there are still seats
available on the bus for the annual trip. This,
year the trip is to Toronto in Sept. and apy
lady interested in going please contact Olave
or Edith Jessome as soon as possible.
President Thelma reported on the Honors
and Awards dinner to be held on June 9.
At this dinner Past Zone Commander Peg
Coombs presented long service pins to Ann
Wood, 15 years; Rachel Reiht, 20 years and
Henrietta Brown, 35 years.
A number of members were present.for
the initiation cereegaony conducted by the
Zone and District Commander and assisted
by the membership chairman Al Nicholson,
Those present were, regular June 8 /80,
Thomas Btacow;.Harry Horsup. Wm. Helly
and Bill Smith; associate, 1983. Gary Boyle,
Randy Gridzak, Gall Hoffman, , Charlie
Malcolm and Jo Anne Sholdice; associate,
1982, Mike Marion, Robt. Montgomery,
Dawn Riley and- David Ste. Marie.
Special thanks to Dick Whiteley and his
committee for their time and effort in
researching the past. The committee' is well
aware there are many more in the branch
who deserve recognition for the contribu-
tions they have made for the good and
welfare of the bunch and the community
and will be reviewing more naives again
next year.
Don't forget, this Thursday at 8 p.m. the
Levens • -
DISC JOCKEY SERVICE
Annie Malcolm was presented with, her
first Vice President bar. There are other
ladies eligible for long service pins and'they
will receive theirs at a future meeting.
After the meeting Wednesday night the
ladies all enjoyed a dinner at the Seaforth
Steak House. We will be receiving a bulletin
soon with all the catering dates for the
summer.
•. Remember girls help is always needed
and appreciated, so please volunteer if you
have a spare day or evening. Many hands
make light work.

meeting„ under the direction , of 'the new
Prbsident,Jijek Muir. The regular meeting
Thursday, June 21 will be chaired by `die
*W.**. vrpe president Jim Watson. All
meetings start at 8 p.m.
The following. members and wives leave
for Winnipeg this coming weekend'to attend
the'Domimon Convention in Winnipeg: Jack
and'Marie Muir, Al and Helen Nicholson.
Tom and Helen Wilbee and yours truly.
Last week a Legion funeral service was
held • for Robert (Bob) Ste. Marie. Bob
passed away after a short illness and will be
missed very much. To his wife and family we
offer our sympathies in their loss of a
husband and father.
Age shall not weary them nor the yeas
Condemn. At the going down of the sun and
in the morning we will remember them:
