Canada Health Day will be celebrated on
May 12, 1984. The theme is Behind the
Scenes in Health Care
Cosponsored by the Canadian Hospital
Association and the Canadian Public
Health Association, the purpose of this
day is to increase the awareness of the
general public and the health sector of
topics related to health.
The 1984 theme provides the community
with a unique opportunity to learn more
about your health organization, its role
and its services- It is also a chance to
become better acquainted with its
administration, funding, programs, vol-
unteer activities, research projects and
many more aspects.
Canada Health Day is also an occasion
for health institutions and local organize •
tions to communicate their programs to
their communities, to assist the public to
become more knowledgeable about
health care.
The Municipality of Seaforth, Ontario
officially proclaims May 12, 1984, as
Canada Health Day.

WHEREAS litter pollutes our parks. recreational areas. beaches.
highways and school grounds by defacing them to our sight. and
WHEREAS litter can be dangerous by causing physical harm to
man and animals: and
WHEREAS thoughtlessness and negligence are the main
contributory factors in the occurrence and spread of litter. and
WHEREAS the litter can be reduced by modern technology,
education, streamlined enforcement and updated littler by laws,
and responsible packaging: and
WHEREAS the Town of Seaforth is concerned with the problems
caused by litter and to bring it to the attention of the public it is
deemed appropriate to appoint the week of May 7 to 13. 1984, as
the start of the "Pitch -in '84" campaign in the Town of Seaforth.
and urge all citizens to co-operate with the Town of Seaforth. in
the elimination and reduction of litter and litterirtg,
Senior Citizens wishing assistance in cleaning up their properties
are asked to phone the following persons who will arrange for
school children to assist them.
