The Legion bowling league INOurid4l. their
season's bowling Saturday night,i`Witli, a
banquet and presentations of trophies, 'Tice
winning team captained by Helen Nicholson
and including Jackie Melanson, Sharon
Wood, Ron Williamson, George Hays and
Don Wood won both the league trophy and
the playoff trophy.
High averages for the season were Don
Eaton at 211 and Ann Wood for the ladies
with 205 points. Trophies for the high triple
went to Joan Eaton with 78$ and Al Smale
with 862, for the high single to Helen
Nicholson with 325 and Gordon Scott 304.
There were some high scores for the
spares who bowled through the year
including Brian Dale with a triple of 896 and
• Joy Ross with a 729. Larry Broome and
Marie Muir had high singles of ladies 243
and the men 323,
There were some low scores recorded of

At the meeting held last week some
discussion was held regarding delegates to
the Dominion Convention to be held at
Winnipeg from June 17 to June 21. The
delegates who were appointed were the
incoming president Jack Muir, Al Nicholson,
Tom Wilbee and myself.

Eaton, treasurer Marg Ungarian, to Jack
Eisler" and Ron Williamson for the weekly
pleasure pak they supplied and to Marg
Smale and her committee for selecting the
trophies and making sure they were at the
banquet. Also thanks to Don Muir for taking
the photographs. The same officers were
returned for the coming season again.
The remainder of the evening was spent
dancing to the music of D.J. "Lively Lou"
downstairs with a good turnout of Legion
members and guests. I forget to mention the
team 1 was on finished dead last. Other team
members were Dorothea Williamson (cap-
tain), Thelma Coombs, Jean Cairns, Bill
Eisler and Jack Ungarian. We were
presented with one of those black and white
animals.
Next Sunday, Apr. 29 the Auxiliary of the
branch will be hosting the Zone C1 Ladies
Auxiliary Convention in Seaforth, A parade
to the cenotaph will be held at 1:30 p.m, in
the afternoon with their meeting starting at 2
p.m. We wish the ladies well in their
deliberations.
This past week members of the branch
and our Padre Frank Golding attended the
committal services of Gordon Messenger.
