The Ladies Aid of First Presbyterian
Church, Seaforth met in the church basement
on Apr. 3. There were 11 members and two
guests.
The buying committee talked about getting
a chesterfield and chair for the Centennial
room.
Charlotte Duke introduced our- speaker
Rev. Cheryl -Ann Stadelbauer-Sampa. She
spoke on the minority of women working in
the churches. She said we have to do some
-hanges so get the people more interested.
New officers chosen
by past -presidents
The euchre team of Jim Watson, George
Case, Bill Hodge and myself who competed
at the district final last Saturday at Lucknow,
did not fare too well. The best we could do
was four wins. The winning teams will go on
to the finals later this month.
This weekend, the district convention will
be held at the Stratford Legion. On
Saturday, the executive wilt hold a meeting
in the afternoon with the main meeting
starting at 10 a.m. Sunday morning with a
parade at 12:30 p.m. followed by a banquet
and the remainder of the meeting. Anyone
wishing to attend please contact Peter
Malcolm immediately.
A new proposed slate of officers have been
chosen by a committee of past presidents
and will be presented to the April meeting
on Thursday, Apr. 19. Nominations will be
opened at this meeting to anyone wishing to
nominate further names to any office. These
names will be voted on at the May meeting
should a vote be necessary. The Branch
executive will meet on Thursday evening at 8
p.m. Committee chairmen and officers
please plan to attend.

THE LEGION AUXILIARY NEWS
The April meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary
was held last Wednesday.
Arrangements were fipalized for the
parade at' the Zone Convention Zone C.1
Ladies Auxiliary to be held in Seaforth Apr.
29 at 1:30 p.m. The parade will proceed to
the cenotaph for the laying of a wreath then
return to the legion for the convention
meeting. The President Ontario Provincial
Command will be our presiding officer.
A gift was sent to Lloyd Eisler Jr. in honor
of Lloyd's and his partner Kathy Matousek's
great showing in the Canadians, Olympics
and World Pairs Figure Skating Champion-
ships. Lloyd is a member of Branch .156 and
his mother Bev is, a member of the auxiliary.
Once again Sports Officer Annie Malcolm
would like to remind ail the members of our
invitational bowling tournament in .early
May and would appreciate the usual
donations of Bingo and door prizes from our
members.
Last Saturday afternoon, a bus with about
24 Auxiliary members and some of the men
from Brussels Legion called at our branch.
They were visiting different branches and
celebrating the Auxiliary's anniversary.
Happy Birthday Brussels. It was good to see
you all and help to make your day enjoyable.
There are some dishes and containers that
have been left in the kitchen after pot -luck
suppers. etc. If you are missing any please
