Applications The Seaforth and District Minor Hockey Association will be hosting a midget hockey team from Norway from Dec. 27, 1984 to Jan. 9, 1985. The Norwegian team will be playing a series of seven exhibition games in Seaforth and some area towns during this time. Tours to local points of interest will also be arranged for the players and coaching staff. The 1985.86 Seaforth midget hockey team will be making a return visit to Norway during the Christmas holidays. Seaforth and District Minor Hockey is requesting written applications for two SEAFORTH CENTENAIRES O.H.A. JR. "D" . HOCKEY CLUB ANNUAL MEETING and Election of Officers Thurs. April 12 8 p.m. Seaforth & District Community Centres for coaches coaching positions, one manager'sposition and one trainer's position. Applications for any or all of these positions for the 1984-85 and 1985-86 season must be submitted to Bob Beuttenmiller no later than 5 p.m. Wednes- day, May 9, 1984. A special committee has been formed and they will be meeting monthly to formulate plans for tours, games, receptions, fund raising, etc. Chairman of the committee is Bill Weber. Ted Ahara of Wingham is representing the WOAA on the committee and Mike Hammond from Clarksburg is representing the OMHA. Rowcliffe 7-2, Bill Campbell defeated Dave Underwood 8-4. The menrs draws have been completed. The winner of the 7:00, p.m. draw was Bob Jarmuth's rink with a point total of 68. Bob Kistner was vice, Larry Cook second and Doug Leonhardt, lead. This rink will play off with the 9:00 o'clock winner with 70% points which was the Mike Thomas' rink with Bob Fotheringh ini,.ice; Dan Templeton, second; and Frank Van Hevellea 1 These t o.played off on Apr. 4 with Mike Thomas 'ink defeating Bob Jarmuth and his team 8 4,/for the men's third draw trophy. A play-off for the men's 2ndasdraw trophy was played Apr. 5. In this game John Patterson Sr. defeated Gord Pryce 5-3. The Patterson rink included Bob Jarmuth vice, Harry Jansen second, Clarence Denomme, lead. The Pryce rink had Ray Hutchinson, vice; Dave Underwood, second, Ken Murray lead. ° Also on Apr. 5 two mixed draw finals were played the second draw for the Scott Habkirk trophy was won by Steve Brown's rink over John Patterson Jr. by a score of 8-2: The Brown rink had Roxanne Brown vice; Bob Armstrong second and Bev Armstrong leading. The Patterson rink included Gwen Patterson, vice; Dave Campbell second, Steve Dolmage lead. The third draw mixed playoff was also played Apr. 5. In this game a rink skipped by Doug Rowcliffe defeated Bob Fothering- ham s rink 5-3. The Rowcliffe rink included Roxanne Brown vice. Eric McIntosh second, Bev Armstrong lead while the Fotheringham rink had Elaine Van [;-level vice, and Dale Derbyshire second, no lead. JUNIOR CURLERS E.D. REG. 2.39 CAsuiddiattatipencit The junior club had its windup Apr. 2 with curling, a potluck supper which included the parents and a short meeting. At curling, the Whitney-Ribey trophy was won by the Ron Pryce rink with Peter Ste. Marie vice and Vicki Tremeer second, no lead. It was reported that the membership for the season was about the same as last year and that $400 was donated to the men's section of the curling club. A successful season was enjoyed by an addition of some first year curlers. LADIES CLUB On Apr. 3 the ladies club enjoyed then final day. A total of 39 people attended in which six rinks curled, followed by a potluck supper and a general meeting. Prizes were won by 1st Loretta Dolmage rink; 2nd Terry Ward rink; third Pat Deighton rink; fourth to Flo Smith's rink. Irma Pryce, the current, president, was presented with a plant as a token of appreciation for the tremendous effort put into the curling club activities in the 1983-84 season. The ladies club had a very successful season with an increase in membership, being able to install two new electric stoves in the kitchen. They plan to turn over a. substantial donation to the men's club for financial support. The following slate of officers was presented for the 1984-85 curling season: President, Irma Pryce; First Vice, Marie McGavin; Second Vice, Isobelle Moore; Secretary, Sheila Richardson; Treasurer, Pat.
