Variety, we all know is the spice of life but 1 would prefer a little less bitter cold and snow and a whole lot more sweet sun and warm temperatures. Residents were busy picking up twigs from their lawns and raking up the leaves and dead grasses on the good days and catching up on indoor work on the cold wet days. The ladies have begun their housecleaning as the blankets and draperies are clearly seen on the clotheslines and storm being rgmoved and screens put in place on the freshly cleaned windows. One never quite realizes that those windows were quite that dirty until they are cleaned and all that light comes through. Many people couldn't wait any longer so on Sunday out came the barbecue and believe me there is nothing quite like the first burger or steak of the season. All we need now is an 80 degree day, our bathing suits and a pool and we will be all set. Congratulations are extended to Mr. and Mrs. Jack O'Rourke on the birth of a grandson, Bradley William born to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Stacey (Sally O'Rourke) of Mitchell on Apr. 5 in the Stratford General Hospital.
