Most of them had a good time, while others were unable to enjoy it. Mrs. Riley stayed home to tend to a Sick horse and Mrs. Telford was sick with the' flu. Mr. Kemp also spent a boring break recoupinfrom sickness. Some like Mrs. Mortonjust stayed in Seaforth while Mr. Carter id some spring cleaning. Going to Kitchener and Mount Forest were .part of Mrs. Bell's activities, ije Mrs. Bell enjoyed herself, Mrs. Piot travelled to Biloxi, Mississippi on a golf trip. Mrs. Van den Akker, went to St. Thomas with her family. The "Big" guy, Mr. Jewitt went to see his brother in Minden and went to a lodge for two days (where he injured his back). The Katimavik crew helped out around the connpunity-doing small jobs. Both Mr. Snell and Mrs. Patterson preferred home the best. For one night, Mrs. Lyon went to Chatham. In London Mrs. Britton attended a car show and did some shopping. Mr, Park spent his time exploring Toronto, Waterloo, Milton, London, Sparta, Lobo and Egmond- viile. At the Oshwegan Indian Reserve, Mrs. Reynolds learned about ,the culture of Indians. Mrs. Ribey discovered various town and cities. • While Mrs. Keillor went to explore London and Toronto, Mr. Eisler went to Las Vegas to lose all his money. "Too bad" they all came back! A15 Look.aft'eryour pets BY BILL GRADS 7 SEAP ORTH PUBLIC SCHOOL They're cute, they're cuddly, they're furry and warm. A pet is what I have just described in'afew brief words. You feedthem regularly, and look after them very well. But there are"some people that don't look after their pets, and the pet usually dies or runs away from home. Those pets I feel sorry for. We have a pet at our home. It's all of the above description, and it's a cat. The cat makes its rounds every morning and' wakes everybody .in our'honse-hold. up. We feed it food in the morning before we strike off for school. She ,is very choosy. It eats only one kind'of cat food. We make sure she has her shots so she doesn't catch any diseases. Which brings me to another point; you should get a file at your, local veterinary clinic, so they will keep you. up to date on when your pet needs its shots: PESKY FLEAS - Your cat can alab catch the bug that makes your pet itch and itch, and scratch and scratch. The bug comes in, usually from another pet or animal and gets to the pets flesh. And the pet must itch. The way to help your pet out, is to get a flea collar or give the pet* bath. I feel sorry to see a cat or dog or any pet sit out in the middle of a back yard itching and itching with its paws. Just think, how would you like to have to Itch all the time: ' PETS BECOME CLOSE FRIENDS After awhile (if you like pets) you become attached to your pet, and when it's time to split apart, it's herd to do: You feel like you've lost your best friend. 1 remember the time our cat got lost; I felt like 1 had lost a part of my family. She was gone for three days and came back to a warm welcome. We kept her inside for a week. So I know what people are feeling. Our cat has been with us for seven years. And we have grown to like her very much. One weekend we went away for some well-earned holidays. And when we returned the cat met us at the door and just kept meowing at us for 10 minutes. So you pet owners, who are not looking after yol>}r pets think about what I've said. And think about the cat's feelings. And you pet owners, who are looking after your pets, you deserve a pat on the back. But if your cat has ran away and you were looking, after it, don't worry, it wasn't your fault. The cat might have got lost or got to a highway and been hit. Now you know what the people feel when .they lose their pets:' Think of what the pet feels when it loses its master: Egmondville 4-H BY ALLYSON SCOTT The seventh meeting of the Egmondville Busy Fingers was held at the home of Deb Core.
