UNIT DANCE
An awfuiibt of people in the Seaforth area
were very concerned and sorry for the•Sloans
as they are such swell -known and .well -liked
family. Surely, there, have been quite a few
gestures made -to help them: in one way or
another_ The 'students of the high` school
made such a'gesture last Friday, afternoon
when they held a :benefit dance for Barb.-
Tickets were sold in home room for $2 a
' piece and;dona'tions were graciously accept.
. ed by tFie•Student's Council. Many students
went to the dance and enjoyed themselves.
listening to the music of DJs Sean Lane -and
Grant Ross who. donated their "time and
' Music to the dance.
Finally, at the dance came..the time that
many had been waiting for - the, time, to
present Barb with'the Cheque amounting to
$810 from the proceeds of, the dance and
donations made by students and staff, $90
front the Student's Council to make the
cheque, an even 5900 and S100 from the
Girls' • Trumpet Band making the total
number of donations $1,000 which is a` good
amount coming from such a Small school.'
This is another example of the support
that people in our area give one another in
timei of need. I am sure that you can think of

HELPED MOVE
Last Saturday a group of Junior Farmers
worked together to help a family whom the
Huron .Family,Services Organization .re-
comrgended that needed help to movelfrom
Seaforth to a nearby town.With a lie of .
effort and some good spirits, the g oup
moved ,the family within two and a half
hours.
The service clubs, church organizations
and school organizations end many other
committees and clubs, are very strong in
Seaforth. and they do a ;,lot of good. If a •
service club holds a dance in town, they
often do so to' raisemoney for theta club.
However, they are also providing entertain-
ment for the public, something to do on a
weekend when there seems to be little ,eltie
going on.
In the city, that may, seem like a funny
• thing to say, but in Seaforth I. am Sure You
must know whatit is like to go through a
weekend with not much going on. A dance is
always welcome here.
The Lion's Club did something different
last weekend than holding a dance to raise
money for their club. The Seaforth, Dublin
and Mitchell Lion's worked together to
present a TV auction which was televised on
channel 12. The idea behind this was that
several items that had been donated. by
