The Farmer's Open Bonspiel held at
Seaforth Wednesday', Mar. 7 was a great
success.
Ice maker Peter Jansen made good ice for
it. Both draws were filled with a rink from St.
Marys who won the first with a point total of
50.
Rich Fifield skipped with Brian Douglas
vice, Kerry Campbell "second and John
Hution lead.
Second prize went to a Seaforth rink
skipped by Ros$ Hodgert, third to Norrn
Clement's rink from Elmira and the consola-
tion prize to Marvin Hartwick rink from
Mitchell.
The winner of the second draw was Robert
Fotheringham's rink from Seaforth with vice
Dave Ste. Marie, third Dave Underwood and
Bob's son Wm. leading, with a point total of
52% .
Second prize went to Al Siemon's rink from
Mitchell, third to Bill Harmer's rink also from
Mitchell and thee,''otlaolatipn to Roy Beller-

REFEREES at the Tuesday night Seaforth
midget hockey game kept the game under
control. Hut checking was pretty heavy when
Seaforth won theft final game against
Seniors beat
Seaforth and District edged out Stratford
Cunningham Paints in senior division
tingette.
The Paints hosted the final game of the
serol -finals Wed. Mar. 7 at the Rotory arena
in Stratford.
Jennifer Watt of the tween division helped
fill tip the space felt vacant with the absence
of Strong, Wilson and Vandenberk. Watt
along with wingers Tammy Taylor, Parn
Campbell and Debbie Core kept up the
\strong and steady play as centres -Denise
Marcy and Lisa Wi7wyer doubled on
defense with Kendra Papple and Lisa Calvet
who. along with Morey and O'Dwyer saw
most of the 'game time on the ice.
Kelly Calvet in net played an excellent
game. Money and Core each counted two

Core one.
Watt counted the other goal with Lisa
O'Dwyer counting one assist. The final
shore was home club 5. Paints 4.
Stratford goals went to Gina Chiocchio and
Cordy Hesse with two each.
Minutes in penalties were Paints 14 and
Seaforth 4. Both Seafotth penalties were at
the same time and Seaforth managed one
goal during this time.
Hard-working Papple brought the ring out
of Seaforth's defensive zone up to Core and
Morey and in the net leaving the Paints
wondering what happened. Great play girls.
The girls meet Perth County Market after
spring break for finals and the champion-
ship.
Pee Wees lose to Clinton 3-2
Seaforth Pee Wees hosted the Clinton Pee
Wees on Sunday in the first game of their
WOAA play-offs. Clinton won 3-2.
The Seaforth Pee Wees played a good
game against the Clinton team. At the en l of
the first period Seaforth was leading 2-1( but
failed to score in the second and third
periods.

Trevor Fortune played a good game in net
stopping a Jot of shots from the hard hitting
team.
Clinton scored' once in the second,and
once in the this'd period to end the gam3-2.
Storing for Seaforth were Jason Schoon-
derwoerd assisted by Ray Murray; and Pat
Nigh assisted by Brad Carter and Mark
Reid.
Next game in the series to be played in
Clinton on the weekend,
Novices win against Clinton
Seaforth Novice started playoffs witb
Clinton Feb. 2' in Clinton.
Score of the first game 'ended in an
overtime two all tie.
Scoring for Seaforth was Scott Jervis and
Thomas Wheatley.
Clinton travelled to Seaforth Mar. 3 and
defeated Seaforth 3-0.
Since Seaforth won the flip they had the
next game on Mar. 10 winning 4-3 in
overtime.
Scoring for Seaforth was Mike Watt two
goals and one assist. Scott Jervis had two
goals.
Assists also went to Ty Dapple and Mike
Devereaux.
The next game is in Clinton Mar. 12. The
winner meets Mitchell.
The Seaforth novice hockey team hosted
Clutton Saturday for the playoff games and
won 4-3.
Seaforth opened up the scoring late in the
first period. Scoring for Seaforth was Scott
Jervis assisted by Ty Papple.
Clinton caine back shortly after tying up
the score 1-1. `Chris Kennedy scoring
assisted by Danny Wildfong.
There was no scoring in the second period.
Early in the third Seaforth's Mike Watt
scored unassisted. Moments later Chris
Kennedy scored for. Clinton assisted by
Danny Wildfong and Nathan Burns„ This left
the game in 2-2 tie. -•
In the overtime period Seaforth scored at
8:53 with the goal going to Mike Watt
assisted by Mike Deveraux. Clinton came
back to tie up the scoring for their needed
one point.
Danny Wildfong scored, assisted by
Jonathon Hugill. With only 1:42 left n, the
period Seaforth got the go-ahead goal scored
by Scott Jervis.
