A generous donation was given to the club by one of the members. Members were reminded of the dessert enr-hre at the Lodge Hall on Monday, Feb. 13. The. March 5 meeting is to be held at the home of Marg McCutcheon. Euchre was played with high prizes going to Mary Lowe, Mary Davidson; low, Lillian King, Alice McArter; lucky number prize Sarah Stephenson. Lunch was served by the hostess and her assisted Verna Thomas. The Friday afternoon discussion group had a real treat. EUCHRE WINNERS Thirteen tables were kJ -play at the weekly euchre which was held in the W.I. Hall Wednesday February 8. Winners were high lady, Mrs. Albert Cook; novelty lady, Mrs. Stanley Black; low lady, Mrs. Jim Coultes; high man, Mel Jacklin; novelty man, William Black; low man, Jim Leddy. There will be euchre again this Wednes- day starting at 8:00. Everyone is welcome. KNOX MEETING The annual meeting of Knox Presbyterian Church was held on Monday, February 6: Following Rev. Kenneth Innes accepting a call to Winnipeg, Rev. Tom Duke of Seaforth has been inter -moderator. All reports presented met objectives. Douglas Bruce was appointed to the Trustee Board and Garner Nicholson to the Board of Managers replacing Ron Clarkson. It was decided to hold the anniversary early in September. It will be- the 120th anniversary of Presbyterian worship in Belgrave. MAY HOLD VARIETY CONCERT The annual social business meeting of the Belgrave Knox United Church choir was held on Monday, Feb. 6, 1984 at the home of Clifford Coultes. .. At the short business meeting, it was decided to keep the present officers for another year. They are as follows: president," Kenneth Wheeler; secretary, Katherine. Procter; social committee, Mrs. Bert John- ston and Mrs. Jim Lamont. A discussion followed on the possibility of holding a variety concert' in March. Mrs. George Procter opened the worship with' a prayer, followed by a hymn. Mrs. George Michie read the scripture:- .. Mrs. Michie led the business with a poem. The treasurer's report was given by Miss' Annie Cook. The, birthday party this month will be at the home of Mrs. Harold Vincent on Feb. 21. Mrs. Laura Johnston's program was based on Jesus, the poor and us. Mrs. Dorothy Logan and Mrs. Harold Vincent assisted with the reading. Mrs. Johnston concluded with "This is Life". Lunch was provided •by Mrs. Kenneth Wheeler and Mrs. Harold Vincent. PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Logan, Kevin and Trevor of Wyoming spent the weekend with their parents Mrs. Cliff Logan and Mr. and Mrs. George McGee. Mr. and Mrs. Maitland Edgar of Petrolia called on relatives in the area on Thursday. The regular monthly meeting of the Belgrave Women's Institute will be held Feb. 21 at 12:30 p.m. with a pot luck dinner. Mrs.' Garner Nicholson is the convenor of this World Affairs meeting. Mrs. Knight gave a meditation on "Love" and read two poems by Helen Steiner Rice." Mrs. Clare Veitch introduced the new study , on Africa using a large map to illustrate the different parts. Each member was given a small map, also true or false questions to answer and a quiz on Central Africa. Mrs. Wilfred Strickler and Mrs. Vanass took part in an interview with a nurse in a general hospital.
