PUC's 1984 budget lower
The forecasted budget for capital and
controllable expenses for 1984 of Seaforth's
Public Utilities Commission is approximately
510,000 less than the actual money spent in
1983, the commission learned at its Jan. 11
meeting.
Though it spent 5139,800 last year, the
PUC approved 5133,800 to be spent in 1983.
"The new truck. is the main reason why
we're over in '83", said PUC manager Toni
1984's forecast is 5129,000. Included in
capital expenditures for this year are
rebuilding wood poles on George St..
restringing line from the M81 power station
to the arena and Chalk St. and installing
isolation points on Duke St. and James St.
"The forecast is lower than last year's.
We're not out of line," said Gard Pullman.
"We're lucky that it's not going up like a lot
of other things."
Free services to the town by the PUC
should be in a separate category in the
budget rather than hidden in a miscellan-
eous category as they are now," said
chairman Jim Sills.
"I think we should have a cost M point to if
someone says we don't do anything for the
town," he says.
Free services for 1983 included putting up
banners for Sportsfest, Ciderfest and service
clubs event . plitthig Op the town's

takes a few days."
1986 is the PUC's 75th anniversary, the
manager reminded the commission. 'May-
be you want to start thinking about it," he
said.
