Muriel has worked at the Brussels Post Office for 27 years and will retire January 7. The party in her honour was attended by1S postal employees, mail carriers and their families. She was presented with a gift. Ken Ritchie and his fiancee, Kristin Adle, Saudi Arabia spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ritchie and family. They are returning to Saudi Arabia by way of Germany where they will spend New Year's. Miss Adle's home is in Adelaide. Australia but is working in Saudi Arabia. Mrs. Mary Yell! and Jean Bewley have returned from a two week holiday in Alberta where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Dan Raven, John and Scott. Their 1983 tax bill was $2,498. Our biggest beef is the school tax. Members are paying school tax on their private tax bill and now. we're' paying double," said Mr_' Brewer. Of the, total, $1,077 of the tax bill is county and village taxes. The balance is education tax. "We're running pretty well in the red and any way we can get help we have, to get it," said Mr. McNeil. A grand- mother, who had no intention of buying one, was dose to a crowd of, women when the announcement was made. There Was a mad scramble with dolls being flung hither and yonder as the women searched for the one they wanted. Suddenly the grandmother was hit with one of the flying dolls. Remembering. her daughter had been able to get one for her daughter she clincher] it close and kept it - Arrival in Winnipeg was greeted with a -35 temperature and brisk wind. All motorists heading west out of the city for Christmas were turned back. We did not get the storm that you people were buried in here, just the extreme cold. It was a happy and busy Christmas season for my family, in Winnipeg. Daughter-in-law had a- short tumble downstairs, just prior to the closing of school that left her ith a very sore left arm. There was afternoon twat a friend's house; dinner at the Country Club restaurant another evening there when another friend picked up Louise and I to go and watch my son curl. She stood on her feet from 9:00a -m. until 3:30 p.m. wrapping without anything to eat or drink_ Atter sue rad a rest w, a0 went out to dinner at the Swiss Chalet, came home and entertained two other couples with a Christ' party. A delightful occasion. Christmas was a relaxing day with all the traditional family happiness and fun that ended with a candle and wine delicious Christmas dinner.
