members were initiated as associate mem-
bers at the meeting.
Family and Children's Services was given a
$50 donation for Christmas.
Any member who would like to see a New
Years Party organized, please leave word at
the bar. Shuffleboard will be starting soon.
The Hensall branch would like to extend a
speedy recovery to comrades Ray McKinnon,
Mona Campbell, and yours truly who is laid
up (supposed to be), after surgery on her feet.
At the going down of the sun and in the
morning we will remember them.

BANTAMS WIN SQUEAKER
The Hensall bantams squeaked by Exeter,
7-6 to continue on their winning streak.
Hensall opened the scoring in the first
period by Rob Taylor assisted by Jim Dickins.
Two minutes later Exeter tied the score.
Wayne Scotchmer assisted by Chris
Ingram and Jim Dickins opened the scoring in
the second period. Fifty seconds later Exeter
again tied it. Exeter then caught fire and
scored three more goals.
Going into the third period, down 5-2, Jim
Dickins from Rob Taylor started Hensall on
their come back. Two minutes later Jason
!manse fired one past the downed goalie. The
team picked up the pace and Jim Dickins
assisted by Rob Taylor and Brian Moir tied up
the game, Jason !manse from John Roose-
boom scored and Chris Campbell. A minute
later with a minute and a half left in the game
Exeter put one past Rob Wareing.
The team play their next game Dec. 22 in
Clinton.
QUEEN SW AY NURSING HOME NEWS
Monday was Craft Day at Queensway. And
in keeping with the season, residents
decorated the Christmas tree.
Shirley Luther led the church service on
Tuesday afternoon. Asa Deeves lit the third
Advent candle while residents sang carols.
On Wednesday afternoon, residents
watched a movie entitled "Living Jungle".
On Thursday afternoon the ladies baked a
birthday cake for the birthday party on
Friday. Bill McKenzie had the only birthday.
Mrs. Roobol from Hensall helped serve the
ice cream and cake.
Sunday was a very special day at
Queensway., Families joined for a Christmas
dinner. Rev. Stan McDonald, Hensall United
Church, was Master of Ceremonies. Coby
Amoraal, Irvine Amoraal and Coby Amsing
provided an afternoon of drama and musical
entertainment.
UNITED CHURCH
The Senior Choir of the Hensall United
Church led the ministry of music on Sunday
morning.
The worship was conducted by Mr.
McDonald and Douglas Klopp was the
organist. Jodi Sararas read the scripture for
the lighting of the third Advent candle and
Jonathon Corbett lit the candle. Sheila
Corbett greeted the congregation and Ron
Riley, Jim Parsons, Lorne Gackstetter and
Paul Alexander were the ushers.
Mr. McDonald spoke on the subject of
"Things We Need to Make Room For",
basing his thoughts on the text "There was
no room for them in the Inn".
The congregation was reminded that next
Sunday will be the Christmas Sunday service.
The Christmas Eve Service will be held at
7:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
The Official Board of the United Church
met on Thursday evening for their regular
meeting. All committees were reminded that
Jan. 4 is the deadline for 1984 reports to be
into the church office. The board is also
recommending to the congregatidn that the
church service on June 30 be cancelledin
order that the congregation may all attend the
Tuckersmith Township celebration church
service.
PERSONALS
Rev. McDonald attended the funeral on
Tuesday of his cousin Leslie Crozier of Ethel.
On Tuesday evening he received word of the
death of another cousin, Harold Annette, the
deceased are a son and son-in-law of his aunt
Mrs. Etta Annette of Listowel.
Mrs. Larry Uyl has returned from Stratford
Hospital, following surgery. We wish her
speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs, Mac Munroe and Chris of
Whitby and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dark and
Mark of Lucan visited over the weekend with
their mother, Mrs. Eric Munroe and with
their father Eric Munroe in Parkhill.
Rev. Kenneth Knight conducted worship
in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sunday
with Carolyn Love presiding at the organ and
leading the choir in the service of song. The
choir will be assisting in the carol service at
Coven Presbyterian Church, Exeter on Dec.
23 at 7:30 p.m.

Brucefield students lead church service

The Tuckersmith-Stanley Unit met at the
Brucefield church for a potluck dinner on
Tuesday.
Minnie Walters opened the worship with a
poem. Several carols were sung with Elsie
Henderson as pianist. She also sang a solo.
Beatrice Stoll read a story "Seeking the
Christ Child in our Generation and the girl
who received a living doll for Christmas."
Edna Patterson conducted the business.
Mrs. Walters and Mrs. McCartney are to
make up the schedule for the New Year and

STUDENTS LEAD SERVICE '
At the morning church service the Sunday
school pupils under the direction of Beth
Cooper, superintendent and the teachers led
in the service. Barbara Livermore, the
orgasiist and Mrs. Donna McBeath at the
piano played for the carols and choir
members,
Christmas services will be held at 10 a.m.
on Dec. 23 and in the evening at 7 p.m. a
candlelight and carol service will be held at
St. Andrews, Kippen.
PERSONALS
Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hill and Adam have
moved from Brantford into the Robert Allan
house.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Scott spent the weekend
with Mr. and Mts. Ron Scott and son, ,
Willowdale.
Annie Paterson and Cheryl, London visited
Sunday with Edna Paterson.
Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Wightman
on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Charlie
Brigham, John Brigham, Mr. and Mrs. Chris
Brigham and Caine and Jason Button from
Sarnia and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Brigham and
girls of Blyth.
