The Three Links Seniors of Hensall met
Dec. 11 for their meeting which began with a
turkey supper,
President Hilda Payne opened the meeting
with Vera Ross at the piano. A donation was
made to the Huron Day Centre for the
Homebound at Huronview.
The program was arranged by Irene Davis
and Irene Finlayson. Irene Davis gave a
reading from the President off the OHC. Carol
singing was enjoyed. The Tinkertown Ally
Cats, Mildred and David Kyle land Jack
Simmons provided toe tapping music which
was enjoyed by all.
Euchre was played. Winners were: ladies
high, Gertie Moir; Men's high, Nellie Riley,
playing a man's card; low prize, John
McDougall; lone hands, Evelyn Flynn.
The next meeting will be on Jan. 8 at 2 p.m.
UNIT III UCW
Unit lI held their Christmas meeting Dec.
10. Mona Alderdice opened with a poem.

Jan. 28 is Huron Perth Presbytery.
Helen Drysdale had the devotional and
opened with a song.
A play "What Child Is This" was
presented by Eleanor Mansfield, Kay Mock,
Shirley McAllister, Mona Alderdice and Jean
Wareing._

be sent to th Blind Mission and in place of
Secret pals, bers are going to buy or
make articles of c thing for a layette to be
sent in the bale next fall.
Mona had another Christmas poem and
members had their exchange of gifts.

Mark Sav&ge is a patient in Seaforth
Hospital. Mark is having an operation on his
feet. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Mattie and Alec McGregor held their
Christmas on Sunday at the home of Doug
and Anne McGregor. Those present were
John and Mary McGregor, children Carol and
Terry; Doug and Anne McGregor, Brian and
Barbara; and Catherine and Eric Judge from
Strathroy and Heather, Jimmy and Kathy
Jane. Absent from the gathering was John
and Mary's son Dave who was still in Seaforth
hospital recovering from his accident two
months ago.
UNITED CHURCH NEWS
Pastor Don Moffat presided in the pulpit on
Sunday when St. Andrew's Church, Kippen,
celebrated the lighting of the Red Advent
Candle. Red is the color which represents The
Holy Spirit.

The choir is reminded of a special
combined choir practice of Brucef:eld and
Kippen choirs at Kippen Church on Dec. 20,
at :45 p.m. This :s to prepare for the
Christmas Eve Service on Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. at
Kippen United Church.

presented Kay Mock, the leader for last year,
with a gift.
NEW CHOIR GOWNS
The annual general meeting of the Hensall
United Church Women was held on Dec. 3.
It was reported that the new choir gowns
for the junior choir would cost a reakonable
amount and it was decided to have 12 to 15
made. A new Union Jack will be purchased
for the church sanctuary.
The annual meeting of Huron Perth
Presbytery will be held in Wingham on Jan.

The budget for 1984-5 was presented by
Mary Goodwin. Members decided to pur-
chase a photo copier for use at the church.
The loose collection for the evening will be
for African relief and amounted.to $200.
A letter concerning the'closing pf the John
Robarts School for Deaf for senior students
was read. Mrs. Dianne Gerttenkorn said that
letters in this regard may be picked up at the
Flower Basket to be sent to Bette Stephen-
son. There is also a box for donations for
expenses for this crusade.
The Memorial Fund of the UCW .is to be
looked into by Shirley McAllister and Audrey
Christie.
President Joyce •Pepper opened the gener-
al meeting. `Helen Scene who conducted a
devotion on Love at Christmas time.
'.• The program was conducted by Dorothy
Brintnell. Vera Ross played several Christ-
mas tunes on the piano and Rev. Stan
McDonald was the speaker.. He showed a
film.
Rev. McDonald conducted the installation
of officers. Joyce Pepper was presented with
a life mei bership.
Officers elected include: past president,
Joyce Pepper; president, Belva Fuss; secre-
tary, Grace Drummond; treasurer; Hilda
Payne; stewardship and finance, Mary
Goodwin; communications, Dorothy Brint-
nell; leadership and development, Dianne
Gerstenkorn; world outreach, Kay Mock;
church in society, Audrey Christie; Christian
development, Shirley McAllister; in church
committee, Marg Cole; nursery, Susan Stoll;'
unit leaders, Unit 1, Audrey Christie; Unit 2,
Mona Alderdice; Unit 3, Dorothy Parker,
Unit 4, Nan Britton.
LEGION CHRISTMAS MEETING
The Legion Auxiliary had a good turn out
for their Christmas meeting on Dec. 4. Life
members comrades Leona Parke, Vera
Smale, Hilda Smale and Jean Munn were'
presented with a corsage.
Special guest for the evening was Zone
Commander, Mary Hawn. After the meeting
a lunch was served.
The life members were given Christmas
gifts from the auxiliary. The annual gift
exchange followed. '
On Dec. 6, several comrades took treats to
the Queensway Nursing Home.
The children's Christmas party was held in
the Legion Hall, Dec. 9. Films were shown
and Santa arrived. Because of the lack of
snow Santa had a little trouble getting there
but somehow he always manages.
On Dec. 12, the Legion had their general
meeting.
Comrade Louise Allan reported for mem-
bership. Only a little over half of the members
have paid their dues. Comrades have less
than two weeks to pay to get that early bird
plaque. Members can pay at the bar or to the
membership committee comrades, Lloyd
Allan, Louise Allan or Ted Taylor.
The Legion will be sponsoring the Hensall
Pee Wee's in a Legion tournament in Ripley
