The children worked hard but never earned much money. Neither Sally or Tom had ever bought a Christmas gift for their parents before but this year they really wanted to, One afternoon as they were strolling home from school Sally spotted a five dollar bill. They were very excited about their find. lmediately they went to find their parents a gift but they could find nothing for them. As they sadly walked home they met an older person from their school, He saw their five dollars and he grabbed it from Sally's hand. Then they were even more sad. On Christmas morning the children were unhappy but didn't show it. Later when their parents came down the stairs Tom and Sally were ready with one homemade Christmas card. Tom and Sally's parents were pleased with what their children did. They all agreed this was the best Christmas ever. Merry Christmas. Kids talk on Christmas A CHRISTMAS STORY BY JEFF WEBER On the 20th of December the Smith family was on their way home from their Grandma's. "Daddy can we stop," pleaded Mark. "That's the fifth stand we passed today." "All right," his father gave in. You remind me when you see the next stand." Just then Julie, Mark's sister, jumped up and said, "There's a stand!" Mr. Smith pulled over and asked what tree they wanted. "I want this one!" cried Julie. "No, she always gets her way!" cried Mark. "Why don't we let Mom pick." said Mr. Smith. "Oh, alright," said Julie. They picked one, bought it and took it home. When they got home Mrs. Smith said "If I let you stay up late, will you behave tomorrow?" They decorated the tree and went to bed. December 25, in the morning, Mark crept downstairs at 6:30 a.m. He went to the living room and stood there in awe. "Wow," he said to himself, "I didn't know I was this flood! Then Julie came up and stood beside him. "Wowl" she repeated. "Let's go get Mom and Dad up!" Mark said excitedly. When Mr. and Mrs. Smith got up they had a breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast. Then they went in the living room and opened all•the presents. "Hey, look what I got!" said Mark, "1 got a football T-shirt and a football and electronic battleship and You could carry on for a hour," said Mrs. Smith cutting in. "Well," said Mr. Smith "Let's go to Grandma's, she 's waiting!" So they went to their Grandma's and had a Merry Christmas. d GI?EETINGSTO AI -_L!
