Residents hear old tyme music
'Highlighting last week's events at Seaforth
Health Care Facility was the old tyme music
and dance held on Thursday afternoon with
music by Marie Flynn and orchestra. A
number of residents from Kilbarchan,
accompanied by Darlene Coughtrey, were
also guests. Old tyme waltzes, fox trots,
polkas and the bird dance kept toes a tapping.
Friday morning films took everyone on a
trip to Alberta and British Columbia. Also a
comic short film of the Marx Brothers.

On Wednesday afternoon, Rev. J. • Van -
slyke was in charge of worship service.
Kathleen Cuthill accompanied at the piano
for the hymns.
Birthday greetings on Saturday to Maria
Potoczniak celebrating her 75th birthday and
to Bruce Bennett celebrating his 70th
birthday on Monday.
High alley bowler last week was Mack
Tiffin with a 170. Margeurite Shill was high
lady in w/c bowling and James Nolan won the
usic at Huronview
The Community Band of, Seaforth and
Dashwood.. under the direction of Dr. Charles
Toll presented a varied program to the
Huronview residents on Sunday,
The program was given in four sections.
Section A included 0 Canada and the Maple
Leaf, Jingle Bells, Silent Night, Away in a
Manger.
Section B included a, carol singing by the
audience under the direction of George
Cowan of'Chatham, a retired Blyth teacher
and bandsman.
Residents' were accompanied on piano by
Mrs. Henderson of Huronview.
Section C: stepdancing by Clinton step -
dancers; a cornet solo by Robert Adams of
Clinton; The Chickadees, expert step dancers
from Clinton; a humorous recitation by Stab/
Necks, 10 years, of Clinton. Violin selections
by Madonna McQuaid, accompanied on
piano by sister Carol Ann and a lively number
accompanied by Mrs. McQuaid.
The band then played a short program of
standard marches ending with a social
period.
The community band has entertained the
residents twice yearly every June and Dec.
for approximately 10 years.

PERSONALS
Nora Maloney was visited by members of
her family, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Maloney and
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Maloney, Mary
Maloney. She was also out with her son Ken
on on Tuesday afternoon and was visited by
her granddaughters Colleen and Anne Marie
Maloney.
Gladys Ruston spent Sunday with her
family at Stratford.
'Doris Smith was visited by her mother and
sister Betty on Sunday.
Carole Geddes was visited by her son and
friend.
Mr, and Mrs. Dave Netzke were visited by
friends on Saturday:
Ruth Noll spent the weekend at her home in
Palmerston.
Visiting with Kelly Lamont was his cousin
Mary Lamont.
On Tuesday afternoon, Watson Webster
visited friends at Seaforth Health Care
Facility and also brought his mouth organ
along and played many favorite pieces for the
residents. Mr. Webster visits several times
during the year and always takes time to play
for the residents.
• Jim O'Sullivan and Mr. Lou Morris visited
with Leo O'Sullivan.
