There are somethings you cannot buy —
love, honor, health and happiness.

Now that the fall season is here, people
begin to consider and plan for the wintery
weather ahead. Thoughts turn to warm
garments to keep out the chilly winds. The
cost of outfitting a family. with necessary
clothing is a worry, But there is help. The
Variety Fair of the Morning Star Rebekah's
will be held in the 1OOF lodge rooms on Oct. '
20 at 1:30 p.m.. You are likely to find things
you need at a price that suits you.
There will be new and good used clothing,
home baking to tempt your appetite and a tea
room where you can relax.
Those who expect Mr. Mulroney's P.C.
Government to find swift solutions or
solutions to all the problems of this country
are going to be disappointed. He has already
backed off from some of the promises made
prior to the election. Being an intelligent
person he must have realized it would be
impossible to keep some of them. He blames
the Liberals for not disclosing the truth about
the financial state of the country. No
government by themselves can right all
Canada's economic woes. There are too many
factors involved. People who think so are
naive.
In this era of equality and sharing,
professional women and others who work
outside their home no longer hire domestic
help. They marry it. Husbands find them-
selves sharing household chores and child
care. Some men are happy to do so while
others do it -- like it or not. Gone are the days
when those family duties were undisputed
"women's work".

We wonder how many these days would act
as the laborers in this true story did. When
the composer of "My Fair Lady", who was a
gifted pianist. arrived in the United States in
the 1920s his talents were not recognized. He
was not well received and found himself
financially embarrassed. his piano was about

to be repossessed. As he waited for the men
to come and remove it, he sat down to play
once more. He heard nothing but the music as
he played with rare inspiration. When he
finished he looked up to find the three moving
men seated on the floor enraptured by his
music, They said not a word bull dug into their
pockets, pooled enough money to pay the
installment due, put it on top • of the piano and
walked out. What a warm and hearted
gestured.
We have all seen order forms which say
"Send no money now. You will be billed
later." Some forms once went out saying
"Send no money now. You will be bilked
later.” Some typesetter might have made
that error with "tongue in cheek" feeling that
it was probably the truth.

to attack weeds
head on
Huron County Council's agriculture and
property committee will have another look at
weed control with an eye to backing the
weed inspector in his attempt to enlarge the
noxious weed list.
A letter from the ministry suggests that
local municipalities may pass bylaws desig-
nating local weeds in part or all of the
municipality.
:The agriculture and property committee
suggested that farmers be encouraged to
follow control recommendations. But after
several reeves spoke of their own weed
problems, it was decided to pursue the
matter further.
