Manor residents buy ghetto blaster

Wednesday afternoon at Seaforth Health
Centre Facility.
Wheelchair residents, under the supervis-
ion of Ruth Nolan enjoyed an outing to the
Pizza Train on Tuesday afternoon for an
ice-cream cone.
A picnic barbecue was held on the patio on
Friday for noon followed by Bingo in the
activity room at 2 p.m. Winners for Bingo
were Charles Ross x3, Eva Netzke, Norma
Streets x2, Alfie Sykes, Harold Walsh, Keith
Herman, Nelson Hall, Maxine Elliott while
Doris Smith and Iia Gardner tied for full
house.
Gladys Ruston spent Sunday at her home in
Stratford,
Mary Lamont visited her cousin Kelly.
Residents were saddened to learn of the
death of fellow resident Ross Houghton who
passed away on Sunday, Aug, 26. Ross had
been a long time resident at Seaforth Health
Care Facility. His funeral services were held
from Mb Young Funeral Home, Huron Street,
Stratford on Tuesday -afternoon at 3 p.nt.
Birthday greetings last Tuesday to Ruth

gardens by watering when needed and till
annuals are blooming profusely. The sun-
flowers planted by former resident Wayne
Hedges now stand over 6 feet in height. .

Susan Hildreth, Provincial President of the

Teachers' Associations of Ontario., Speaking
to 600 delegates at the Federation's Annual
Meeting in Toronto, Ms.. Hildreth urged
achers to undertake political action against
media violence and pornography and for
affirmative action and peace.

Ms, Hildreth spoke strongly in favour of
affirmative action in school systems, saying
that "This generation ofmen and women
must do something positive'and effective (to
-eliminate sex stereotyping) or our female
students will remain in the same low-paying,
low -status job ghettos women occupy now.

J. Hagan, Seaforth. Chairman of the project
was John Paul Rau.
Draw proceeds go to support the various
charity projects undertaken by the Knights of
Columbus within their district.
