CECILIA RYAN 345-2028 Leanne Marie, infant daughter of Neil and Glenda Murray was baptized on Friday, Aug. 17 at St. Columban Roman Catholic Church by Father Henry Cassana. Godparents for Leanne were Murray and . Chris McClure of Brucefield. Guests attending ,the baptismal ceremony and later at the Murray home were grandparents Tom and Maddie Murray and Peter and Mary Connolly of Seaforth, Allan Murray, Mark Murray, Grant and Mary Little, Brian and Betty of Seaforth, Joanne Ares and Michelle of Fdrnonton, Alta.; Father Henry Cassano, Murray and Chris McClure and Leanne's brother Brad and sister Mandy. Congratulations to Richard Miller and Catherine Anne Lane who were married on Friday, Aug. 24t 7 p.m. at St. Columban R.C. Church. Theceremony was performed by Father Gordon Kennedy, assisted by Father Cassano. Catherine Anne is the daughter of Joe and Teresa Lane. The young couple will live in Strathroy. Guests attending the wedding and the reception later at the Seaforth Legion came from Weston, Toronto, Burlington, Milton, Strathroy, Dresden, Edmonton, Kinkora, Lakeside, Stratford, Mitchell, Clinton, Sea - forth and surrounding area. Mary Moylan attended a retreat at Mount �t. Joseph, London last week given by Redemparish Father Miller of Saskatoon, Mildred Lane of Weston is spending a few days with Mary Moylan. Mr. and Mrs. Philip James are home from a holiday in the Western provinces. Friends, relatives and neighbors attended a bridal shower, honoring Susan 'Norris, bride -elect, on Wednesday evening in the Family Life Centre. Robin Daynard chaired the evening and introduced the program which included guitar instrumentals by Kip Daynard, skip- ping by Jennifer Fuller and Donnya Daynard, contests conducted by Mrs. Gordon Colgin- houn, and readings by Mrs. Calvin Christie. Mrs. Arthur Kemp handed out recipe cards._ and asked everyone to write out their favourite recipe and a helpful hint for Susan.) Mrs. Jim Docking read an address of good wishes and Susan was assisted by her mother, Mrs, Bob Norris, and Rob's mother Norma Heckman, in opening her gifts. Susan expressed her appreciation to all and everyone enjoyed refreshments served by the ladies who planned the evening. Trustee Don Crowley said he has learned that students view a visit to the guidance counsellor "as a good reason for getting out of class". He made the comments at the board's Aug. 21 meeting prior to approving the guidance review committee. Congratulations to Marilyn Murray and David Wylie who were united in marriage on Saturday, Aug. 25 at St. Columban R.C. Church by Father Henry Cassano, Attendants for the bride and groom were Mary Murray, maid of honor, bridesmaids were Joanne Ares, Cathy Landry, Tracy Brown and Mary Devereaux, best man was Dave Chilton and ushers were Neil, Allan and Mark Murray and Richard Wylie. Music was by the St. Columban Choir under the direction of Mary Coyne, organist was Patsy°Crowley, guitarists were Joan and Lori Bruxer and the soloists were Alex Mustakas and Wayne Berwick. Cathy Landry and 'Allan Murray did the readings. Guests attending were grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wylie, Toronto and Margaret Channing of Kitchener and parents Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Wylie of Kitchener. Other guests attending the dinner and reception at the Mitchell and District Community Centre came from Toronto, Kitchener, Peterborough, Lakefield, London, British Columbia, Edmonton, Yellowknife, Seaforth and surrounding area.
