(Wassink photo) Homemaker services increased A dramatic 32% increase in homemaker services was reported during the first five months of 1984 by Executive Director. Jean Young at the June 27 board meeting of Town and Country Homemakers. The number of hours of service in May 1984 was double that of January 1983. During the month of May there were 236 clients cared for by approximately 85 homemakers. An important lnservice Training was held for all homemakers in Clinton Park on Saturday June 23. The theme for the morning session was Stress Management. In the afternoon two speakers and a panel of homemakers gave presentations on Alzheim- ers Disease. A presentation at the Auburn Women's Institute by Jean Young was well received. Two new homemakers near Auburn have increased public awareness in that area. Jean Young and Gayle King will be attending the 22nd International Conference on Social Welfare in Montreal on Aug. 9 and 10. Keynote speakers will be Florence Moore of New York City, Pat Thomas. Canadian Council and Maggie Fietz, Ontario Visiting Homemakers Services Association. Betty McGregor, Hensall was elected second vice-president of the Board of Directors for Town and Country Homemakers for the coming year. When Kippen East Women s Institute was formed in 1934 the first meetings were held in Chiselhurst Church. The white pine tree has been chosen to represent Canada in it's bicentennial year. Pastor Don Moffat presided in the pulpit on Sunday, July 1 along with Rev. James Bechtel. Mary Moffatt accompanied at the organ. • The sermon topic was "Joy and Judge• mens" and the sacrament of communion was partaken of with Rev. James Bechtel officiating.
