The Huron Expositor, 1985-12-25, Page 19MERRY CHRISTMAS Students make a Christmas wish [F' I H A I) ONE W ISH BYANGLEBELL • Hensall Public School If I had one wish at Christmas I would like to see Africa and Ethiopia produce a'good crop of food by making the drought stop. This would result in them becoming stronger and healthier. I would also like to see them get medical care and see the children have schools where they could go and learn how' to read, write and learn to build homes and grow food. I would like to see them become alot happier. MY('IIRLSTMASWISH HYSIIEILA DOC'GALL Hensall Public School Everyone in the world has a different wish, hut I think the best thing any child could be hoping for would be love and peace. In the papers everyday you read of a world of crisis involving starving children in Ethiopia, or about small children and teens being'killed in riots in South Africa. It scares me to think, "What if that had been me." In Canada we don't worry about wars breaking out, but one thing we do worry about is whether we get what we want for Christmas. Maybe if everyone chipped in those people wouldn't have to worry about whether they'll have supper tonight. I think this world would be a better place if we all forgot our own problems and do something about those who need the help Merry Christmas HaNe.a bright and beautiful Christmas. Many thanks for )our kind support. ANNE'S HAIRSTYLING 527-1894 Main St. . Those two people would be my parents. They could go to the middle of the ocean and sit around and relax. If they wanted to, they could give me something very expensive for my sixteenth birthday such as a 1985 Corvette. I wouldn't care about the car but I would just want them to have a happy life on a new priceless yaught and live happily with our family. MN'CHRISTMAS W ISH BYMARC TLSNEY Hensall Public School If I had a wish, just one wish, I would wish for hunger to cease. It makes me feel sad when I think of the starving people in Ethiopia - the agony of knowing your children, if they live long enough will grow up being in constant pain. These children cannot go to sleep at night from pain. Yet we can eat and eat until we almost suffocate. The people of Ethiopia would cry for one tiny piece of grain. Some of them are so thin and starved they cannot move. If all the rich people in North America would contribute that extra hit of money they were going to use on something frivilous there wouldn't be as many starving people at Christmas time Christmas is a time of joy and harmony. Hope yours is wonderful in every way! Thanks and happy holiday! r im r• North End 887.6173 of Brussels Best wishes and our sincere gratitude for a cheer -filled holiday season STEWART McCALL LTD. And I could also go down there to relax and meet some new friends. Once and awhile we could go out fishing and catch some big salmon. And Maybe just maybe in return they could bye me a brand new 1986 Peterbilt Conventional. Then we could all have our own type of pleasure. • IFTHIS WOULD ONLY HAPPEN? 'Y• ' BY STEVEN CAMPBELL Hensall Public School If 1 could change one thing in the world, it would be that all poor people throughout the world would have good homes, a loving family, food and clothing and to have some money from time to time. Same, with the people who sleep on the streets at nights begging for food and money. If people took time to really see what they're like then there wouldn't be houses and stores being broken into, kidnapping, vandalism, pickpocketers and there wouldn't be as many crimes being committed. W hat these people need is one chance to prove to the people that they're just as good as us. If this would only happen it would be a much better and safer world.
